Re: NRLCEO 2011 - The GH Premiership
Yeah its game on GCR
Its going to be a good finish tonight, we both have 3 players playing - Uate, Hodges and Glenn vs Mullen, Parker(k) and Gillett.
Looks like the Silverbacks are the first team in the GF, even with four quality players missing Gaz, Merritt, Inglis and Bailey, they have powered home again

Re: NRLCEO 2011 - The GH Premiership
NRLCEO coaches may be wondering why they can not pick their team for round 25 yet. The reason is that round 24 has not yet been finalised. We are hoping to finalise this round as soon as possible but we are working on a small glitch in the competitions that feature an 8 team NRL style finals.
NRLCEO apologises for this inconvenience and we will finalise round 24 as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: NRLCEO 2011 - The GH Premiership
NRLCEO Coaches are advised that there is no danger of not being able to put a team in for this week's round. We are currently still working on an issue associated with the 8 team finals series.
NRLCEO recognises that this delay is causing some concern for coaches and even though this bug only effects a few competitions, we feel that it is necessary to rectify the situation.
Round 24 results will definitely be finalised allowing coaches to choose their round 25 side this afternoon. That gives coaches over 24 hours before the lockout.
Once again, we apologise for the delay thank you for your patience.
Any queries can be sent to nrlceo@y7mail.com and a reply will be prompt.

Could this mean more than a Grand Final appearance
Coomera Gazette
Norris looking for work?
In a week when distractions are unwanted , the rumblings of Thurston unhappy in the Great Ones camp are resurfacing. The possible new home are their finals opponents this week GCR.
Thurston sees the GCR team on the rise , finishing 6th and claiming 2 finals wins as they head into the Grand final qualifier. To add heat to the rumour is if the Great Ones fall to GCR and don't reach the GF , coach Chuck Norris is expected to be sacked as head coach which could see a wave of players leaving the club including star fullback Slater and gun back rower Simms.
GCR head into this weekend with a limited preparation as it was unclear who would be playing the Great Ones. Missing from the GCR team will be seasoned centre Hodges and doubts on the fitness of the Hulk ( Taylor ). Livewire Matty Bowen retains the captaincy for the knockout game. Tim Moltzen becomes the latest player to wear the number 7 after some impressive performances from the bench.

Bad luck GD, your injuries have derailed your season in the last few months, but congrats on a great season winning the minor premiership and dominating the comp until JT went down, hopefully your keen to come back next year and have another crack.
Congrat to the GCR's wow what a fantastic run your team has had in the Finals - The Giant Killers, from 6th on the table to the GF, now you get a chance to stop the Silverbacks from going back to back.
Good luck next week guys

Enjoy the win Raidersrawesome. That's the last taste of victory you get.
Gotta say, I know GD's Great Ones season fell away with injuries but the Nth Qld Raiders would have to be the unluckiest team of the year. Punched out consistent 120+ scores for the back end of the season.

For NQR. Good luck in the decider
Looks like we have two North Queenslanders in the grand final here so it is a win win situation. The Tainui Bulldogs went so close to making the big dance and fell just two points short. Dominant Tackle have been just that all year - dominant...!
Big Mal Says:
Dominant Tackle is currently the best team in the tournament and the NQ Raiders will need to score more than 38 points if they are to feature in this one. My advice: Take the Tackle by the number of series' that the Maroons are going to win in a row...

Re: NRLCEO 2011 - The GH Premiership
Yeah I felt a little unlucky Lurch, What could of been if the Merritt and Inglis show didn't happen in the last Rd, I would of finished 2nd and had an easier path to the GF, but thats the way it goes, thankfully I have made the Legends of league GF in the Mal Meninga league thanks to Benji having a blinder on Monday night.Lurch wrote:It's on like Donkey Kong!

Speaking of legends of league, I find it a little amusing that the nrlceo guys like to look after their own when it comes to the write ups, saying my team the NQ Raiders needs to score more than 38 pts this week - how about looking a little closer and noticing that I had **** Adam Blair binned and then sent off so I started the weekend on -8, then I had Sam Perrett and Nathan Merritt both named but they didn't play, none of my outside backs got pts until Benji ripped it up on Monday night.
Another write up that annoyed me was when GCRs sons team the Dugan Dynamites copped a smartarse remark during the year which was below the belt and uncalled for.
But I'm sure if I manage an upset this weekend I can come up with a smartarse comment of two in return

Unfinished business
Gold Coast Daily
No more second chances , don't die wondering . These are the simple messages that coach Adam will drill into his team as they lace up their boots in the sheds one final time.
GCR have been the fairy tale story of the year but don't talk to coach Adam about fairy tales.
"Fairy Tale my ass , we have been confident in our playing roster , playing structures and team dynamics to have a successful year. I've always said once you make the semis it's a new ball game ".
GCR who have been involved in sudden death games all through the finals series are prepared for their biggest challenge to date when they take on the Sterling Silverbacks who have a star studded line up. The question will be asked though if the Silverbacks come into the decider underdone, only playing 1 game in the last 3 weeks while their opposition has played in all finals game and are game hardened.
GCR are unchanged for this week with Moltzen captaining for the 1st time. Hopoate and Leilua may push for inclusion if they pass fitness tests later in the week.
In other news the GCR club today was approached by their sister club the Canberra Raiders.
The Canberra Raiders club have completed their review and have decided to base their club structures around the successful GCR model.

Re: NRLCEO 2011 - The GH Premiership
Not a bad way to end the season, another high scoring game and close GF.
First of all congratulations to Lurch - back to back attack Well done mate, you have shown again you are the master by winning the GH Premiership again, your team was to good when it mattered and you had great consistency all year, you deserved to win again, I look forward to our battles in 2012 and trying to stop the three-peat.
GCRs, well what year of highs and lows, you started the season slow and were struggling for a while, but in the 2nd half of the year your boys hit some form and carried it on in the Finals, you had a huge mountain to climb finishing 6th, it was win at all costs, you took out teams 1, 3 and 4 but unfortunately team 2 was a hard nut to crack and the fairy tale ended today, your boys put up a good fight scoring 124 which would win you most games, but the Silverbacks seems to have players step up when needed in big games, this time it was Jarryd Hayne playing his best game of the season with 5 TAs and a Try.
Congrats on a great year GCR
Thank you to everyone for a great year, hope you guys are all keen to go around again in 2012, we will have two newbies next year, Sublime Green and Seamonkey are in the Div 2 GF, so I think its only fair that they come up and join the big boys in 2012.
Once again congrats to the Stirling Silverbacks for going to back to back !
