GH NRL Fantasy competition 2009

Where did you hear that? There's two sorts of leagues - a "head-to-head" format with 12 teams, and a "classic" league, with as many teams as want to participate.

I've created a league for the GH at Fox Sports (for anyone who can't get into Nick's "exclusive la-de-daa" league :P )

Go to http://nrlfantasy.foxsports.com.au/M/home.mc, create your team, and join up to league #4830-921

I'll join this thing... though I probably won't update it for the whole season, look for me at the bottom of the ladder.

It won't let me change jersey colours... maybe its just because my browser is screwy.

Anyone else interested? So far we've got 5 teams, would be great to get a few more in there to get some rivalry going.

Im in for this one too.
The Retarded Monkeys are gunna kick some ass.
My favorite forum member is 100%Green. Why? Because anyone who can convince my wife who runs two watch shops and doesnt realy like the Raiders to buy me a limited edition centenary of league Raiders watch is alright in my books.

It's hard god-damn work being a Raiders supporter!

Joined to be the 8th team.

Also have offered Toby my spot in the GH Premiership, he won in 08 whilst I was the team he beat to go to the GF from memory.

That is correct, also Krish Nair is sitting in 3rd outright for individual honours. A few more points and he'd have scored himself 6 tickets to the NRL game of his choice.

Since this league doesnt have 12 teams, there will be no head to head. Instead it will be a points league. Is this correct?

That's correct. I read this morning that there will be a knock-out competition starting Round 15, with just over 32,000 teams being whittled down to just 1 at the GF.

After 6 rounds:

= 1 Team Rampage krish nair 496 3358
= 2 Goldcoast Raiders Adam Dante 487 3190
= 3 myteamsprettysickaye brad marsh 462 3116
= 4 Testicular Express Brian Hourigan 476 3095
= 5 Coomera Cosmos Cam Dante 476 3031
= 6 Wangi Warriors Brad Sommerville 420 2966
= 7 The Retarded Monkeys Marc Reynolds 481 2934
= 8 Norfolk Enchants Jeremy Angus 476 2877
= 9 Maddogs Mad Dog 480 2870
= 10 The Rollin Pink Pigs Natalie Angus 429 2656
= 11 Unimaginative name Kyle Sterland 404 2318
= 12 Tim's Tamils Tim Wilson 345 2112
New 13 Football_101 Aaron Brooker 376 376

Maddogs have made a charge up the ladder, while the Wangi Warriors have dropped away a tad. But the real story is, can anyone topple Team Rampage?

After 11 rounds:

# Team Manager Round Total
1 Testicular Express Brian Hourigan 548 5740
2 Team Rampage krish nair 525 5628
3 Coomera Cosmos Cam Dante 503 5567
4 Norfolk Enchants Jeremy Angus 491 5514
5 Goldcoast Raiders Adam Dante 542 5458
6 Maddogs Mad Dog 322 5458
7 Wangi Warriors Brad Sommerville 580 5385
8 The Rollin Pink Pigs Natalie Angus 484 5291
9 The Retarded Monkeys Marc Reynolds 491 5190
10 myteamsprettysickaye brad marsh 520 5185
11 Tim's Tamils Tim Wilson 533 3850
12 Unimaginative name Kyle Sterland 405 3810
13 Football_101 Aaron Brooker 299 2135

Testicular Express has overcome a 300+ point deficit behind the lead, but will they have a balls-up during the Origin Series? Coomera Cosmos and Norfolk Enchants have both had a good last month, whilst Goldcoast Raiders have dropped from 2nd to 5th, despite some good scores.

 Nice call jed.

I think the balls express may have spilt it's load this week. I forgot about the next bye and will have prob 5 players that won't line up :(

I wouldn't stress too much, I've got at least 2 players who won't be hitting the field this weekend. Still it could be worse, I know there's one member of one of my leagues who decided last Friday night to make their changes for the weekend, however it was past the closing time, so their changes were actually applied for the coming round. So their team is stacked with Origin and players for teams who've got the bye, and they've already used up their trades for the week.

3 weeks to go.....

Rank Team Manager Round Total
1 Norfolk Enchants Jeremy Angus 713 15538
2 Testicular Express Brian Hourigan 595 15332
3 Team Rampage krish nair 334 15134
4 The Retarded Monkeys Marc Reynolds 619 15061
5 Maddogs Mad Dog 665 14465
6 The Rollin Pink Pigs Natalie Angus 545 14082
7 Goldcoast Raiders Adam Dante 266 13823
8 Wangi Warriors Brad Sommerville 286 13235
9 myteamsprettysickaye brad marsh 341 11634
10 Coomera Cosmos Cam Dante 262 11447
11 Tim's Tamils Tim Wilson 366 11056
12 Unimaginative name Kyle Sterland 118 9090
13 Football_101 Aaron Brooker 92 6771

Looking like a two-horse race, but Team Rampage have shown in the past that they're capable of pulling off a spectacular team, can they make a super late charge with only 5 games left?

Thanks :) The best advice I can give to anyone who wants to join in next season (and this goes for any competition/game too) is to pay attention before you start to how scores are awarded, and base your game around that. After I figured out the best type of players to go for, it was a lot easier to climb the ladder.

Oh, and don't forget to check your team each week - going into a few rounds minus a decent percentage of your team makes it hard to post a good score :P
