I came so close to losing it all: Lucy to host The GH night of nights
Just a few months ago, it seemed as if his GH posting career was over. Banned, universally derided and spending his days posting instead on the Hello Kitty Fanz Site and Hairdressers World Chat Forum, Lucy was the first to admit that he'd made poor choices.
"I was off the rails. I was drinking hard, trolling the politics thread and firing off dodgy PMs left, right and centre. I was spraying my 3-2-1 votes around in the Fans' Choice section. One morning, I woke up and saw my efforts in the caption competition from the night before. I knew I'd hit rock bottom. Worm... Lucy... I just didn't know who I was anymore."
It was a humiliation not seen on an online league forum since Nick's infamous 0% vote in the 2013 Golden Boogs. Unceremoniously dumped from the elite GH page, Lucy was lost. "I tried to engage on Hairdressers World. I attacked Dugan, and all they wanted to talk about was his exquisite undercut. The Carney bubbler? They just wanted to know what had happened with his tints. I knew I had to start at the bottom again, work my way up. The hardest part was not being able to comment on the whole McCrone fiasco. I had things to say. I wanted to be heard."
In a move that caused ripples through the entire GH community, Lucy was quietly unbanned by GE last week. "I'm not proud to say it," says Lucy "I begged. I grovelled. I did what I had to do. I'm better for The GH. The GH is better for me. I needed to get back".
Lucy's tale came full circle yesterday when he was announced as the host of the GH's night-of-nights, the 2014 Golden Boogs. "When I look at some of the hosts who've come before me...I just don't know what to say. The glitz, the glamour... I thought I'd thrown it all away. I'm just going to go out there and value every second of it. I know how close I was to losing it all".
Lucy's tip for this year? "Pigman at 0%. Lock it in".

You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Seems like the standards of the GH have reached parity with the standards of our beloved club.
Nah, Lucy's alright. Get in there son.

Yep just like Carney it's only a matter of time.Schifty wrote:You can bet TR has a story already penned for when it all goes south..
I bow down to thee oh great Nickman, the wisest of the wise, your political adroitness is unsurpassed, your sagacity is unmatched, your wisdom shines through on this forum amongst us mere mortals as bright as your scalp under the light of a full moon, never shall I doubt your analytical prowess again. You are my hero, my lord, my savior, may you accept my offerings so you continue to bless us with your genius.

He's such a punish to be around too.

Re: REDEMPTION: I came so close to losing it all
Typical. Build him up with redemption stories so that when the pictures leak of him rolling around in his own ****, and you know it will inevitably happen, his fall is all that much harder. You good sir make me sick!
Re: REDEMPTION: I came so close to losing it all
Can someone give me a breif run down on what this is all about?

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
