$20,000 raised by Raiders and CFMEU for *'s Hospital

The Canberra Raiders and associated sponsors were on hand at the Dickson Tradies Club today, to present a cheque for almost $20,000 to the CFMEU *'s Healthcare Trust.

Calendar Co-Sponsors David Thom from *'s Breath Café, John Garforth from FOXTEL Digital and Julie Evans from the Canberra *'s Clubs presented ACT CFMEU President Sarah Schoonwater with the money on behalf of the Raiders, which was raised through the pre Christmas sale of the Raiders 25 year Calendar.

The money donated will be used to support the Centre for Newborn Care at Canberra Hospital, with the Raiders and the CFMEU already showing the great strengths formed in their new and exciting partnership.

Raiders Marketing Manager, Jason Mathie thanked all the major parties involved in the Calendar project and said “The raised funds from this project highlight how supporting partners can work together to make a difference in the Canberra Community”.

“The Calendar not only exposes the Raiders brand, but also those of the supporting 20 businesses who were involved with the calendar” he added.

ACT President of the CFMEU Sarah Schoonwater said the money raised will be put to good use, and she thanked the Raiders for their support in this latest round of fundraising.

The calendar contained posters of the 2006 Hogs Breath *'s, Victor the Viking, Player book labels and over $700 worth of redeemable coupons from The Tradies *'s, Hogs Breath Café*'s, Foxtel Digital, The Kaleen Sports Club, Bob Walker Carpets and The Meeting Place Restaurant inside its covers.
