The Milk: A 40-year odyssey of fandom
Footy draws a crowd, but will a book on the Raiders' 40 years draw funds?
How do you fit 40 years of a football club into a book? For sports writer Matt Cleary, it's all about 20 games. The Canberra Raiders will mark 40 years of competition in 2022 since their founding in Queanbeyan in 1982.

Steve, why did you remove yourself from league? I used to enjoy your articles
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Hmmm interesting the NRL chipped him about using images and IP. It sounds like it’s going to be lots of words and no pictures. That’s tough going for a sports book. Also did I hear correctly he needs to hit $10k crowd funding by a November date or it does go ahead. He’s on $4k now. Maybe get yourself a back up Christmas present GE.

40 per cent there with just under three weeks to go. Ahead of schedule.

done, small outlay for something potentially cool

Re: Pre-order your copy of 40 years of the Canberra Raiders in 20 games now!
I have backed it. Getting close to 60% there.

Added my backing to the project. Hopefully it gets over the line.
Re: Pre-order your copy of 40 years of the Canberra Raiders in 20 games now!
Got a boost of $1500 since yesterday. Hopefully the push The GH gave it yesterday helped that.
Re: Pre-order your copy of 40 years of the Canberra Raiders in 20 games now!
only 1300 to go

The Milk, the book about a 40-year odyssey of fandom for Canberra Raiders, is being launched this Sunday March 6th from 2pm at Canberra's famous Kingston Hotel.
There'll be bar access, canape type offerings, and literary conversation between MC (Raider Nick), author (that would be me) and notable Raiders figures of historical import: Chris O’Sullivan, Mark Bell, Ashley Gilbert and Peter McGrath.
Chat begins at 2pm. All welcome.

Re: The Milk: A 40-year odyssey of fandom
Gday folks.
Author of “The Milk” (that would be me), the book about 40 years of fandom told around 20 games, is holding a signing event at King OMalley’s this Friday from 3pm. Nothing too formal, just some beer and casual footy chat, and sales of signed and personally dedicated copies of The Milk before we get on the bus to beat up the Sharks.
