Albert Hopoate agrees to terms for two year extension with Canberra Raiders

The Canberra Times is reporting that Albert Hopoate has agreed to terms for a two year contract extension with the Canberra Raiders. Hopoate, recruited from the Sea Eagles on a one year deal for 2021, is presently on a contract outside the Raiders' top 30. He did not join the Raiders' NRL bubble on the Gold Coast, and will be one of a number of NSW Cup players to feature in the Canberra Raiders Cup this weekend.

Interesting one.

It was him and HSS putting up the best performances of our reggies backs at the start of the season (including Timoko and Semi in those they bettered) - but they both got injured and leapfrogged just when positions came available.

No idea what Hoppa's best position is yet but he's probably worth a punt in the 30.

I think this is good news.
Looks like he just needs some footy under his belt. Been injured far too often.

Hopefully he has overcome his shocking injury run. Having done his ACL twice. I've not seen him play much so hopefully 2022 can be a good year for him.

a mate of mine coached him in schoolboy rep, he's been telling me how good he can be for a while just needs to get the help with training techniques to stop injuries, apparently he used to just do whatever he thought was right as extras.

Very interested to see if he can get himself up the pecking order. Talent is there. Just gotta stay healthy and get some good footy on field.
