Re: Canberra Raiders' Curtis Scott allegedly involved in nightclub fight
So going back a few weeks, in the context of the Williams matter, Ben Ikin asked why does this keep happening at the Raiders. Clearly we are not the only club enjoying the pleasures of players off field dramas, but the suggestions that there has been smoke around Curtis for a while really makes you wonder why he ended up on our books? Do we like redemption stories, struggle to attract nice people or just think due diligence is overrated?

Can anyone find me stats that show the correlation between players the raiders have released over the last 10 years and the % of tattoo coverage on those players.

Police saying “no victim, nothing to see here”.
Unless the ‘victim’ comes forward I’m not sure what the NRL or Raiders can do.

They can do heaps. Having a victim willing to make a formal complaint is only required for criminal prosecution. The video alone is sufficient for the Raiders and NRL as employees to prove their case that he has bought 'the company' or 'brand' into disrepute under workplace law and terminate his contract.

I'm sure someone from the GH will volunteer to be the victim; actually we are all victims every week watching him play for the last 1.5 years. Even though not a police / criminal matter, we can still sack him - e.g. what happened with CHN, for bringing the club into disrepute

Canberra Raider Curtis Scott nightclub incident: police say victim needs to come forward
ACT Policing will only take action on Curtis Scott's alleged nightclub fight if a complaint is made.
"ACT Policing has not received an official complaint or report in relation to that matter," ACT Chief Police Officer Neil Gaughan said on Monday. "We have seen the footage, which I think pretty much as has everyone on the east coast of Australia, but at this stage we don't intend to take any further action unless we receive a complaint."

Re: Canberra Raiders' Curtis Scott allegedly involved in nightclub fight
Even disregarding the obvious off field issues getting this bloke off the books would be a huge positive squad wise.
He’s absolutely mediocre at best and not worth a cent more than say a Brad Parker or Tom Opacic and getting paid way more. I really don’t like being so negative but he’s dragged the club through the mud twice now and played his best footy in a trial. It was a horrendous downgrade of a signing before any of that even happened and if the club get even a whiff of being able to fix that it should be a hair trigger decision.

Add him to the list of players that always seem to have the game of their lives against us...

Anybody got a link or info on Scott's salary at the Raiders?
Shoving it in your face since 2017

Oh another question... if this happened the weekend before last, was it the Saturday night after a long bus trip back from Gosford?

This is probably wrong but I remember it as 600 or over. Melbourne paying freight for 2 seasons with Canberra full freight in 2022.

Re his salary, no idea where 600k comes from.. that's lunacy
I believe it was reported at the time that the deal was 400k a year, with the storm tipping in half of that for the first two years in which he'd have been contracted to them (due to end this year)
If that is correct, over the course of the 4 years, we'd end up paying him 1.2m over 4 years, which is probably how FoxSports came to to 300k figure, so that's making sense to me
I believe sacking him would free up around 400k of cap space for 2022,

Re: Canberra Raiders' Curtis Scott allegedly involved in nightclub fight
Can we go back to the reports of Kokomo’s placing an unofficial ban on Raiders players. Yeah because raider players are the source of all trouble at that fine establishment. Can think of some other groups that you’d hope would be unofficially banned if the joint was consistent. I don’t expect Kokomo’s to lose too much sleep but just putting it out there I am unofficially blacklisting them.

Perfect time to ditch him.
Re: Canberra Raiders' Curtis Scott allegedly involved in nightclub fight
I've been a defender of Scott, and even i'd ditch him in these circumstances
He was brought in because we thought the train was going to keep rolling and we were so close. It was a cheap 2 year gamble for a player Stuart thought was a sound defensive centre who's going to pass the **** football when he should in a GF. I understood that and believe he could be that if he got his **** together off the park.
Doesnt look like that's going to be his journey, but irrespective, the team has taken a turn in the opposite direction. The train is off the tracks. And he's not the sort of player you want to be helping get it back on.
I absolutely think we should and will terminate his contract.

Curtis Scott re-signs with Melbourne on three-year extension: https://www.sportingnews.com/au/league/ ... tkshuqnrup
600k off the mark but this article from 18 suggests 500.

Re: Canberra Raiders' Curtis Scott allegedly involved in nightclub fight
You dont just hand off contracts though. When he agreed to be released by the Storm and signed by the Raiders, he very likely accepted a less money year to year for security and more long term going through until 2023 (his market value was obviously less than what it was when he re-signed with the Storm)
Im fairly confident in saying the deal was something in the vincinty of 4 years, 1.6m, and the Storm tipping in 400k in that period (which for them is paying 400k to save 600k if those figures are correct)
