More seriously, i genuinely hope Scott gets his **** together and salvages his career. I never like to see young people throw away talent. But at this stage of his career, and given his history, is suspect he's already too far down the wrong path.

I had some good times at PJ's Botman. I lived in Westmead for most of my twenties and PJ's was always the go to after race days.

I only ever had one issue there where a guy pulled a knife on me in the toilet but other than that it was all good.

Rosehill races was another thing though, always seemed to have an issue there, I'd say i spent half my time being escorted out by police!

I assume that wasn't because you won bags of cash and needed a security detail.

Getting chucked out of Rosehill for drunken disorderly behaviour and then rolling straight out of the security escort out and into a big night at PJs... goodness me, those were the halcyon days

To be fair, most of the times the races were over and we were leaving anyway. I just had this thing with trying to smuggle alcohol out and usually got caught, had the beers removed from my pockets and dragged across the train line bridge.

PJ’s! Man those were the days. Friday after work drinks would start at Roxy’s, then once we were kicked out of there we’d make our way to The Commercial before finishing at PJ’s.
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

I’ve floated between Blacktown and Penrith. For the last 5 years I’ve been in Marsden Park.

I used to work in Parra, but the company gave up the Parra lease and we all moved to the CBD. I miss working in Parra.

I think he needs psychological assistance for more than his drinking if he's stalking a young lady he split up with 2 years ago.

Curtis can get that support whilst being detained at Her Majesty’s pleasure. That’s where he needs to be

Yeah, probably best to let this one play out a bit I’d suggest. Story is very light on details other than he was walking down a street. Not illegal unless there was a court order telling him not to? Also if she has concerns then going to the police was very much the right thing to do - the NRL integrity commission though…. It won’t assist her situation it could only potentially impact his. I question the motives a little on that bit. But as I say, very little detail at this stage so I’m reserving all judgement.

Some additional reporting from Michelle Bishop that suggests Scott has also filed a police complaint: https://www.sen.com.au/news/2021/11/12/ ... complaint/

Scott has denied any wrongdoing and sources close to the ex-Raiders and Storm centre claim that Scott has often trained and played tennis at the end of that street: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-pr ... 8f3fee6ebf

Exactly - whether he has or hasn’t done anything wrong obviously matters, but even if he hasn’t you would hope there would be some self reflection and soul searching about how the decisions he makes land him in situations other player don’t find themselves in.

I disagree. Hammering another nail into Scott's NRL coffin seems quite an effective deterrent.

The girl bites back hard. If Curtis had any sense (theoretically), he wouldn't try it again.

I backed Scott to the hilt when he was arrested after Australia Day, and still agree with the court that he wasnt in the wrong there.

But since then wow this guy has bought a one way ticket to pain.

It's like the worst outcome for him was the cops being proven wrong, instead of seeing it as a wake up call he has seen it as the golden ticket to stuff up/act up and no one can punish him...

For his own sake forget about footy, seek help and buy a return ticket to the good life otherwise he will be sharing a cell with Hayne

Curtis Scott found not guilty in a Canberra court. Door open to pursue Raiders for sacking him.

Former Canberra Raiders centre Curtis Scott acquitted of assault over Kokomo's punch thrown in self-defence

Former Raiders centre Curtis Scott has been cleared of a Canberra nightclub assault after a magistrate found he was acting in self-defence when he broke a man's nose.

The verdict followed Scott taking the stand in the ACT Magistrates Court to describe how he had felt threatened by the man, who had touched him and expressed a desire to have "a gay experience".

I see remnants of the gay panic defence are still alive and well in 2022. Is clocking the guy really a proportionate response?

Surely there’s more to it, I haven’t read the entire story because I won’t pay for it but the first paragraph makes disgusting reading let alone it’s been held up in court.

I don’t have access behind the paywall either but the ABC has a report for further details.

Former Raiders player Curtis Scott cleared of assault charge over punch at Canberra nightclub

Former Raiders player Curtis Scott has walked free from a Canberra court, cleared of an assault charge, after he punched a man at a city nightclub last year.

Has to be satire here, surely? Belted someone for coming onto him... and has ptsd so lashes out, despite playing one of the toughest contact sports in the world. Ridiculous.

I know I'm old but I wouldn't imagine it would be usual for someone to use the words " gay experience " in a nightclub.....

Seems like money well spent on that lawyer!

That defense is unbelievable, so a bad experience with the police let’s you be an ‘fill in the gap’ in the eyes of the Courts these days.

The weird thing is, EDIT. The victim himself denies it.

And yet this was apparently the best defence thought up by Scott and his legal team as having the greatest chance of getting him off on self-defence grounds? The ‘gay panic’ defence in 2022? Really? And it worked!
