I’m very interested to see that game
But I suspect the way the storm are run and coached, we’ll probably see them adapt to it the best
They always do
Yep, they were absolutely fine.
Very clean in what they were doing... almost like they're exceptionally well coached.

And almost like with appropriate care there shouldn’t be 17 or whatever it was events requiring sin bins and send offs...

How many good, well-disciplined teams lost players this weekend?

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Three, by my count:

Panthers - Leota
Roosters - Tupouniua
Souths - Su'A

Canberra 12 Melbourne 40

Something like this will be the scoreline most likely.

Will still watch and hope.

At what stage of this game do we all watch to ? This one could get ugly even with the Storm missing a few players.

The only real solace for us is that the storm will also be undermanned but gee they looked good against the Dragons with those players out. Although the dragons did defend most of the game with only 12.

Maybe Stick can have a chat to Hynes about playing here next year

Load up on the storm and back a few any time try scorers from them. Soften that pain with profits

If NAS doesn't spend time in the bin this week I will be shocked. Not that I think he'll do anything dirty but with the size of him he is going to have to start playinh on his knees to avoid a shoulder hitting a head by accident.

Who was expecting that?
Umm, the people expecting him to get a 6 week suspension.
But who?
The people, in this thread, who expected a suspension of up to 6 weeks.
His points charge with all the priors etc is 510. Which is 5 weeks
The only reason it’s 3 is due to the early plea discount
So it’s not that **** far fetched, is it?
Nobody is including priors.

The tackle was a bit careless. 3 weeks seems reasonable. I know intent is no longer a factor, but is was nowhere near a reckless or intentional hit that cleaned him up.

Just have our players deliberately collide their heads with the storm players arms...get a few of them sent off nice and quick...

Hopefully when the Storm are down to 11 men, we might be able to keep the deficit respectable (under 40)..

Reckon we'll see a pretty good effort from the Raiders this week. With so many players out and up against Melbourne this will be a backs to the wall kind of effort. Maybe not enough to get a win but they will avoid a blowout. Something like 26-12 loss. Storm 6 tries and 1 goal.

No need to inflict head trauma on our own players. I was thinking that if a defender sees an attacker losing his footing in front of him, they raise their hands in the air while turning sideways so that there's a chance the attacker's head connects with a hip bone.

Josh Papalii (next 3 weeks out), Jack Wighton and Josh Hodgson all took early guilty pleas for their dangerous contact charges. However, Jarrod Croker and Jordan Rapana are both due back against the Storm.

Team could look like this:

1. Aekins
2. Rapana
3. Kris if Croker doesn't return. Otherwise, he replaces Valemei on the wing. Simonsson back to NSW Cup.
4. Scott
5. Valemei/Kris.
6. S Williams because we need the experience that Frawley just doesn't have yet. Besides, why throw him in the deep end after one (?) NRL game.
7. G Williams
8. Havilli
9. Starling
10. Guler
11. CHN
12. Whitehead
13. Horsburgh because we need aggression right from the start if were going to stay in this contest.

Interchange

14. James
15. Young
16. Lui
17. Soliola

18. Frawley

Surely Croker can't actually replace Kris. Kris is developing into a real strike option in a backline otherwise seriously lacking in them.

It's good to start a working week with a victory. I'm still very very hopeful of a good showing this weekend. You can see the team is still playing for one another with the celebrations of the Kris try.

I recall a backs to the wall effort in 1991 when we played the leading team Penrith at Bruce - we had a lot of people out due to SOO (including Tim Sheens as the coach - so did Penrith to be fair) and we beat them 20-0. We were travelling 8th back then in a top 5 comp. Penrith were leading the comp at the time.

The fox headline that we face a forward crisis is rubbish. Havili for Hodgson, Sia for Papa (if Sutton and Tapine are unavailable). If Sia is still out, then O'Donnell or a back like Rapana. I would keep the back five and have Sammy in for Jack. Croker if available needs to earn his spot back in the side - I do not think he would score in the same Kris position but then again, I don't think he would miss Will Hoppa that badly for that Cotric try. Kris is a bigger body and we need him to improve his defence against Olam and Addo-Carr. G Williams has shown he is a very good goal kicker.

The send offs and sin bins can make it a lottery for the good teams so that if one of the Storm err, it can be a sin bin.

I really hope we can prove people wrong this weekend and get the win. Now I need to go back to work.

5. Semi
6. Aekins
7. George
8. Liu
9. Starling
10. James
11. CHN
12. Whitehead
13. Tapine/Hors

INTERCHANGE

14. Havilli
15. Sia
16. Guler
17. Hors/Young

I know Rapa can get the shakes under the high ball but fullback will give him a licence to roam and Aekins showed some nice touches against the dogs so I’d slot him in at #6

I’ve got Tapine at lock if fit and fingers crossed for Sutton but I don’t think he’s available?

Looks like Croker may now be on the med retirement route then

I suspect the club is trying to fix all outstanding physical issues before giving him another run, and if he's still no good, then it's curtains

It is actually a form of knee reconstruction. The ACL is the usual one you hear about, but a newer procedure (I think called MPFL), is related to athletes with a history of patella dislocation. I recall that Croker went through this when he did his knee initially, there is a decent chance it never recovered properly (or, it was dislocated again but went back). Certainly he has lost some of his footwork and speed in the last couple of seasons.

Regarding the game - going to be extremely tough for the Raiders to keep them under 40 let alone 30 points. We might get some joy going left to target Reimis Smith and George Jennings but, unlike us, their attack turns all half opportunities into tries. Even with their players missing, this is likely to get ugly.
