We’re going to be down Hodgson, Wighton and Papalii for this one I think

Never been so confident in a 30+ point loss. Melbourne are everything we aren’t. Structured, fast, explosive and smart

The rest may do them well, we’re no chance next weekend. The Rooster can be beaten right now.Botman wrote:We’re going to be down Hodgson, Wighton and Papalii for this one I think

I feel like they’ll make an example out the Papa tackle so he’ll done for a few weeks, hopefully we have Jack and Hodgo back.

We’re gona be down Papalii for 6 or so weeks imo
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Yeah I’ve got it initially pegged in the 4-6 zone, thinking they usually give a little discount when the player got sent off as some punishment has already been served
But 6 won’t shock me in the slightest
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Storm by 240.
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Interested to see who ricky names in the starting 12 with a 5 man bench
Dont delete this GE
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Ricky said in the press conference, send off sufficient. And I agree with him. I'm struggling to remember a more incompetent NRL than the one we've got... They are taking decisions without consultation, and without any thought about the ramifications. They've turned "Magic Round" into a farce.
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Lol hang on. Isn't Peter V'Landys a genius? Best administrator since blah blah blah so and so who also 'got' the game?
Hahaha, I mean that's what we kept being told, wasn't it? Saviour of the game. Gets **** done.

Bloke needs to **** off and let the NRL's management do their jobs.

If you've been reading what I've writing for some while, I've got a very different view on Mr V'landys.

Saw a good quote a on twitter "he was a good Churchill during the war, but needed to **** off once the game was going again"afgtnk wrote:Lol hang on. Isn't Peter V'Landys a genius? Best administrator since blah blah blah so and so who also 'got' the game?

Think that’ll be close. Starling and Hodgson swapping though
Don’t think starling is relinquishing that spot
Think there is an outside chance Hodgson is named in the halves to replace Wighton
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
This was always going to be the danger though. When you've got a part-time Chairman who turns himself into a demagogue, a media organisation blowing constant smoke up his ****, doesn't consult, doesn't deliberate, shoots from the hip, wants everything to be done quickly..... this is what happens.
We don't even see, hear, or talk about the CEO or the rest of the Commission anymore. It's almost as if they don't exist.

Surprisingly, this team doesn't look as terrible as I thought it might. Not good, but not awful. Could still beat some teams, but not the Storm.

Shoulder with direct contact to the head. No mitigating factors, nothing bounced off the ball, the player didn’t fall into it
I think that’s going to be the range
Don’t know how the fact he was sent off or what the new crack down will mean for the charge... maybe offsetting?

I think he fell into the tackle and first contact was with the ball.
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
I think it'll be 2-3
Grade 3 careless is 300 points. I can't remember what his record is like and if he has loading. They might charge it grade 2 factoring he was sent off
6 weeks is grade 3 reckless, I don't think it can be considered reckless
Unless it's dangerous contact which grade 3 is 5 weeks.

Agree TW 2-3 for mine. Which with the bye in there means a solid month off footy to rest up for Papa...
Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
I hope you guys are right
But it looked pretty reckless to me
No idea on his record either, it’ll be a factor. If he gets careless but has priors, he’s going to land in the 4-6 range

Re: 2021 Rd 11 V Storm: Teams and Previews
2-3 weeks surely.
Can't say it was reckless. We all say look at things in full speed and in full speed that always looked completely accidental with both players' technique playing its part. The Dogs player ducking surely plays some role, as does Papa attempting to wrap his arms.
2-3 under the new interpretations would surely be sufficient.
Reckon Wighton and Hodgo will face some time out too, albeit probably less.

S Williams is injured isnt he? Missed last two games of reggies..
I’d like to see Frawley on the left and G Williams on the right with Hodgson playing first receiver.

From memory Sia got 6 weeks for hitting Slater late and high, and was not sent off. Papa won't get six weeks and my recollection is he has a relatively clean record. Probably 2-4 weeks for mine.
I hope Jack won't get any. Hodgson perhaps one week but he does have a good record.

Didn't Sia put Slater out for a couple of weeks, seeing he almost decapitated him?

Unless this new ‘directive’ has been extended to the MRC and judiciary I can only see it being a 1 to 2 week for Papa, they’ll have that much evidence of past tackles they could be there all night watching video.
I’ve got no doubt they’ll be video evidence this weekend.

Hope so - I'll settle for that. The reason why I said up to 4 weeks as it reminded me of a tackle by Inglis on Josh Dugan in a SOO but Inglis did break Dugan's jaw with his shoulder. Here, the 18th man was activated and the Bulldogs player failed his HIAPostman Pat wrote: ↑May 16, 2021, 12:37 am Unless this new ‘directive’ has been extended to the MRC and judiciary I can only see it being a 1 to 2 week for Papa, they’ll have that much evidence of past tackles they could be there all night watching video.

Melbourne haven't played yet they could yet be hit hard by the crackdown. The Storm are always pushing the rules as far as they can and if there is any consistency around this round I would be very surprised if they will get through without any charges.
