I quite like that jumper and will be keen to hear the story behind the design.
Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
Looks good. Surprised no Canberra Milk though
Ata Mariota’s #1 fan. Bless his cotton socks.
Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
Looks like canberra milk is on the sleeves.
Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
This is the drop video:
Milk is on the sleeves, Toyota Forklifts front and shoulders
Austbrokers on the bottom back.
Have a feeling that's our 2022 sponsor arrangement as well

Do you think having forklifts as the major sponsor could........give the team a lift?
Oh that was bad...

Is Jack happy and did he get a say in the design?
Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
He looks happy with it in the video and it looks like it.

That looks pretty good. I might buy that depending on finances.

Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
I will bring it up again, like every other year with this Indigenous jersey.
There has been/is no or very little Torres Strait Island artwork on the jersey.
2 flags flying under the Australian indigenous banner, but only 1 culture
Is highly represented!!
Disappointed once again Sebastian Kris is a proud TSI boy.

Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
Hi Ilanraider - I mentioned earlier in the thread that I like the jumper but would love to know more about the story behind the design. I take from your post that you know more about this than I do. Can you tell me if the jumper designs are representative of the backgrounds of the indigenous players at a club or of the indigenous lands where a club is located?Ilanraiders wrote: ↑May 11, 2021, 1:18 pm I will bring it up again, like every other year with this Indigenous jersey.

Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
You will need to wait until the club promotes the jersey by having a story on the jersey and what the designs mean.Billy Walker wrote: ↑May 11, 2021, 1:37 pmHi Ilanraider - I mentioned earlier in the thread that I like the jumper but would love to know more about the story behind the design. My disappointment is there is either too little or no Torres Strait Island designs on the jersey not only this year but most years that the Raiders have the indigenous jersey.

Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
I look forward to hearing the story and learning more about the significance. I could be totally wrong, but I would imagine the design would reflect, or be strongly influenced by the local indigenous history. That might be why Torres Strait design isn’t prominent. Again I could be wrong but when I look at that jumper I see a wedged tail eagle soaring over the Brindabella ranges. Even if I am correct about that, i bet there is a lot more story, significance and meaning the artist has included.Ilanraiders wrote: ↑May 11, 2021, 10:14 pmYou will need to wait until the club promotes the jersey by having a story on the jersey and what the designs mean.Billy Walker wrote: ↑May 11, 2021, 1:37 pmHi Ilanraider - I mentioned earlier in the thread that I like the jumper but would love to know more about the story behind the design. Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
Artwork is really well integrated with this jersey. One of the best designs we've had IMO. Shame about the Toyota Forklifts bumper sticker slapped on the middle of it. Really spoils the aesthetics.
I wasn't a fan of last year's jersey initially but it grew on me. Almost bought one.

Embracing culture: The story of the Canberra Raiders 2021 Indigenous jersey
The Raiders 2021 Indigenous jersey was designed by artist Rayne Huddleston, and was based on initial concepts from Justine Brown. The design focuses on two totems
The wedge-tailed eagle (Mulleun) represents the Ngunnawal people who are the Indigenous people of the Canberra region and its first inhabitants. The goanna represents the people of the Wiradjuri nation which is the largest Indigenous Nation within NSW.

That’s bloody awesome! Congratulations to all involved in the design and the kids from Queanbeyan who were are part of making it happen. Really enjoyed reading that story and love the designs and the story behind it.

They're playing the Roosters in Rd 12 at Gosford in this jumper, and then the Titans in Rd 16.Billy Walker wrote: ↑May 13, 2021, 7:45 pm That’s bloody awesome! Doggies don’t stand a chance this weekend (because they are woeful) - the boys will lift in this jumper (in rounds 12 and 16). Re: 2021 Indigenous Jersey
Very very good design, I love it. Gotta say though, the fit of the jerseys this year is a little off this year. There is a bit of room there to get a finger under the sleeves and yank a player over the sideline Tallis-style.
