I quite like the team named this week if they run out 1-17 as named.
Saying that, I still think we lose

It'd be a miracle if Jack goes 2 weeks without kicking it out on a full.GreenMachine wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 4:23 pm11- 20 please.radicalraider wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 4:20 pm Sweepstake time
How many minutes will Tapine play:
0-10
11-20
21-30
31-40
41-50
Or Late withdrawal.
What does it pay into a multi for Jack kicking the ball out on the full between the 16 to 20 minute mark?
I reckon Tapine will come on in the 70th minute 0-10 to piss her off more

Ponga and Best are worth about 5 tries between them against us. That's literally all you need to beat us at the moment, one gun player. Two is a nightmareGreenMachine wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 4:15 pm Were either Jagging a win or hitting rock bottom....that Knights list is putrid.

Green out with a cracked rib is a loss for them.
They are a reasonable team Newcastle. I saw them the week before last. I had a flight to Townsville on the Friday morning from Sydney so went up Thursday night and saw them against Penrith. They looked pretty solid for most of that night. They were pretty up against it with a few out and they had no fans there and Penrith are on such a high at the moment. But for long parts they were very very competitive. They probably need Ponga to play a blinder to seriously trouble the top teams but the way we are playing at the moment, they will take us if we are off our game.
I've seen that Crossland playing in juniors and NSW Cup and he looks pretty good, whether he is NRL ready is another matter. Expect them to play a lot more ball through Watson at lock with Green out. That is a dangerous match up for us because we play a big bopper in 13.

As bad as we are going, there is no way we should lose an NRL game to a side that has Kurt Mann and Phoenix Crossland as their halves. If our forwards do no worse than break even with theirs - it should be money in the bank.
Now watch Ponga go out and rip apart our right edge defence for three tries

Just reading through the team, I really do think individually it is fairly good. The back 5 (with maybe excluding Seb) doesn't really excite me. But gee that team should be travelling better than they are.

Finally an easy win
Re: 2021 Rd 9 V Knights: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Yep but if our forwards roll their sleeves up, there’s no way their halves will have the field position or the time to do much with that strike power. It’s a no brainer game plan this week for our galaxy-brain coach Rickradicalraider wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 4:57 pmThey still have more strike than us if we're honest about our side...Rickmando wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 4:48 pm As bad as we are going, there is no way we should lose an NRL game to a side that has Kurt Mann and Phoenix Crossland as their halves. Names are important Walter. If you’re Mr and Mrs Best the choice of name for your son can clearly impact his future prospects - “What about we call him Bradman love? - nah far too out there let’s just go with Colin” - the rest is history!

I don't understand why James has been relegated. IMO his limited time against Souths was good .

Still no back on the bench?

Dropping James and still no backs on the bench, even with Kris possible being injured... Brilliant...

Is there a single team in the NRL that carries both a hooker and a back on the bench? I can't think of one and I don't think it's a good strategy. I get that people don't see the point of carrying a third middle who only gets 15min each game... but this is an issue of poor bench rotation rather than poor bench selection.

Havili gets used as a prop 90% of the time now anyway.Raiders_Pat wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 6:05 pmIs there a single team in the NRL that carries both a hooker and a back on the bench? Tapine started the first three weeks at lock, then was injured, then listed as lock but benched and hasn't played well since... This "I'll put you on the bench" "punishment" isn't working, but Stuart is a stubborn old prick and will just keep treating the players like children and hoping for a result...

Maybe it's a SMOKE SCREEN! An hour before kick off, bam! Back into the starting line up! That will win it for us for sure!

Yeah... when Hodgson was fit he was being used as a middle forward, as Ricky sees Hodgson as an 80min hooker. But he has been spending some time at hooker with Hodgson out. We would be fine with Havili plus three forwards as our bench if used effectively imo. But that hasn't been happening.Ultima wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 6:07 pmHavili gets used as a prop 90% of the time now anyway.Raiders_Pat wrote: ↑May 4, 2021, 6:05 pmIs there a single team in the NRL that carries both a hooker and a back on the bench? I don't mind the no back on bench with CHN in the team. He looks agile enough to fill in there temporarily if needs be, imo
If you have a backrower who can play centre, and a front rower who can play edge, I think you're as covered as you optimally can be

Damn! Anyone watching NRL 360 at the moment?
- apparently there was no blow up between stick and Taps... instead there was a team meeting where they said the club is bigger than one social media post and the truth is, Taps and Papa were dropping because they weren’t playing well and they need to step it up
- josh Hodgson advises team mates he was stepping down from captain 2 weeks ago
- George Williams legit homesick but raiders won’t let him go unless suitable replacement is he is “ pretty okay” with this

I'm very suprised James is not in the 17. He deserves a spot ahead of Guler, Horsburgh and Young on form.
