How good has Whitehead been for the Milk, so underrated.

Re: 2021 Rd 8 V Rabbitohs: Game Day
Take away the offside penalty when Johnson dropped the ball, soft 'dangerous tackle' penalty on Walker and the six again when Kris didn't play at the ball and we would look a lot more comfortable.
Need to defend bad calls but when you are under the pump already, it would be handy to have at least half those calls go your way.

Re: 2021 Rd 8 V Rabbitohs: Game Day
Before the game started I said that Whitehead moving to the right would be a blessing in disguise as they might get some actual ball down that edge and it looks to be correct so far.
Errrr... stick solid?

This100% Raiders are the worst when it comes to targeting playmakers in attack. They seem to prefer to target other forwardsJunior wrote:Why aren't we attaching Benji with his trouble defence. I know Wighton is on the left. But Whitehead has shown how it's done with his try.

I like Williams but the attack looks better tonight than it has in a long time
Re: 2021 Rd 8 V Rabbitohs: Game Day
Thought Scott also had a lot of good carries - very solid. Backs having their best game of the season this half

Completely agree pistolThe Nickman wrote: ↑April 29, 2021, 8:44 pm That was a really good half, but we’re really going to need to stick solid for the second half.
Second halves and sticking solid are where we’ve fallen down this season tremendously.

CHN's brain explosions will cost us in the big contests. He gave away penalties directly before
both tries with his offside chase and stupid push in the play the ball. You'll never coach that stuff out of him.

Good first half. Seen this movie before. Hopefully an alternate ending.

Young needs to sort himself out here. We are looking good otherwise.
Hopefully Starling has the energy to play the full 80 and we get some second phase off CHN. Starling can be quite dangerous out there. We need to play off the broken field defence he creates. We won't win off the back of structured footy.

Re: 2021 Rd 8 V Rabbitohs: Game Day
Penalties 0 to 4, Ruck Infringements 2 to 0, Inside the ten 3 to 0 (although some of them were back to back). Crazy game. Our missed tackles will kill us though, 11 to 5

Be great to grab a win here but back to the main game - 55 minute, launch one into the crowd Jackie boi....
Re: 2021 Rd 8 V Rabbitohs: Game Day
CHN pushes the tackled player quite often actually. It was well milked, but it is really unnecessary and dumb.Roger Kenworthy wrote:CHN's brain explosions will cost us in the big contests. He gave away penalties directly before

Re: 2021 Rd 8 V Rabbitohs: Game Day
Biggest difference so far imo is we are making a decent satrt to our sets. Outside backs making good metres. Simmonson especially, middle is rolling off the back of that through some nice simple direct play from Starling

Re: 2021 Rd 8 V Rabbitohs: Game Day
He has used the bench more (except when he was forced to) than he has all season so far, only player who road the pine all half was Soliola. I still think it's silly to save a forward but at least we had three unforced interchanges in a half.

Yeah. What he brings with ball in hand can't be questioned, it's great. But he's been cancelling it out with the dumb stuff his entire career.gergreg wrote: ↑April 29, 2021, 8:52 pmCHN pushes the tackled player quite often actually. Good call - I’d add Scott and Rapa have taken good early carries. Starling has outplayed Cook.kiwi raider wrote: ↑April 29, 2021, 8:52 pm Biggest difference so far imo is we are making a decent satrt to our sets. Outside backs making good metres. Need to be having a word to the ref about them taking Jack out of the kick chase and slowing Rapana down on the first.

What we need is to remove the over-coaching, the slow block plays that we setup for slowly phase after phase, which kills any forward roll we have and sends us sideways.LastRaider wrote: ↑April 29, 2021, 8:49 pmTotally, it what happens when we play straight and not this sideways **** we have been dishing out over the last monthBilly Walker wrote:I like Williams but the attack looks better tonight than it has in a long time

Get quick ball to your halves inside the opposition twenty, have strong hard runners inside and out, and a decent second receiver able to roam both sides of the field - that's it.

I don't normally comment on game day as I watch closely, but impressed with CHN. Hope he n George can strike up a partnership as the year goes on
