Re: Jack Wighton - George Williams combination
Well last night just highlighted how much we lose with Wighton and Williams both being predominantly left side players.
Usually Scott and his winger are catching a cold out there on the right, but this week Elliott opened the right up and gave them some quality ball and that edge absolutely flourished in attack. It’s the best Scott has looked in green.
I honestly don’t know where we go from here with our halves.

Whitehead should always be playing on the right, as well as Rapana.
L-R
Valemei, Kris, Wighton, CHN ... Whitehead, Williams, Scott, Rapana.
Kris and Wighton are very good defenders, as are Whitehead and Williams... and Rapana in the correct position.

Re: Jack Wighton - George Williams combination
The biggest problem with that though is that Williams always runs left. It's not CHN that's the issue on the right, it's Williams.Seiffert82 wrote: ↑April 30, 2021, 11:08 am Whitehead should always be playing on the right, as well as Rapana.

Swapping Whitehead and CHN doesn't solve that issue IMO.

CHN shouldn't be playing first grade for several weeks after last night. He was absymal in the discipline stakes and didn't even ruffle any feathers for his 3 penalties.

Re: Jack Wighton - George Williams combination
I think Williams should be playing both sides of the ruck to be honest. Having Jack on one side and Elliott on the other gives him a ball playing/running option on both sides. The Nickman wrote: ↑April 30, 2021, 11:14 amThe biggest problem with that though is that Williams always runs left. Re: Jack Wighton - George Williams combination
Both Williams and Jack should be playing both sides of the ruck as first and second receiver.
But both are currently in bad form which is compounded by our forward pack not dominating and making the space for the halves to do their thing.
Other issue is that neither has the consistent accurate kicking game to kick us out of trouble when we're struggling to get out of our own half

Nah I should have said I'm not confident in his defence as a full time lock. Pinch hitting as a lock so that Starling comes on when we need to get points, fine, but week-in week-out for 80 minutes (or however long he lasts)... not so sure...kiwi raider wrote: ↑April 30, 2021, 11:20 amso your saying he cant play hooker either?

I was going to say, like Peachey for the Titans, but then I saw the Broncos game...
