We're not gonna be carrying a back on the bench while we're running two hookers. It's one or the other.

Said it last week and I'll say it again. CHN provides real coverage in the backs. It's different having him in the 17.

I feel bad for Lui - at least give the poor bloke a fake injury as well if you’re not going to pick him.....

Very odd the club would put Papa forward to face the media all week talking up the need to find spark and his desire to lead the bounce back etc then this.... something amiss here

Genuinely bizarre on the Papa front.

First it’s about not “overly relying” on Papa.

Now it’s about Papa apparently underperforming.

I've ridden some ugly terrain in my life, but this **** that Rocky has delivered is next level.

My goodness. Pack it up, pal. This coaching caper has passed you.

I’m not clear on this - news.com.au reporting Papa has been dropped, but to me the quotes attributed to Ricky’s suggest it is a rest. Two different things I think. If he rolls out in reserves then he has been dropped which is madness. But if this is about recognising his importance and managing his workload I can get on board with that.

The Croker thing isn't surprising. He was clutching at his left shoulder after hyper extending it when he hit the turf after that last minute chip and chase.

Dropping Papa I'm OK with. I'm not sure it will work, but he needs to rediscover his mojo.

This round is make or break for our attitude across the squad.

I still think we will struggle without CNK though. Aikens positioning and defence at the back is reserve grade quality. The Bunnies kicking game will kill us.

First off, why, second are we carrying two hookers? Havilii is hardly being used, and usually when he does finally get a run it's at prop.

If he's on $650k as rumoured, then the LSA is 200k

So at least 400k would still be on the cap

Yeah but that 200k could be taken off wighton or papas contract. So its incorrect to use it as a softener.

Yep. He's a reasonable centre cover which changes the reshuffle dynamics from basically a disaster with Whitehead just outmatched and wasted out there to having a reasonable FG centre option of he Idris/Suli type mould so you can still run some attack out there and he's not just sitting duck pacewise.

Ricky Stuart forced into more changes ahead of Rabbitohs clash in Canberra

Raiders stars Jarrod Croker and Josh Papalii will miss Thursday's clash with the high-flying South Sydney Rabbitohs after coach Ricky Stuart was forced to make more changes to his under-performing team.

It's the same shoulder the 30-year-old had operated on during the offseason, but his latest setback is not believed to be related to the surgery,
