Funny how a lot of you agree that Wighton isn't a 6 for NSW but for our club he is.. #delusional #nota6

That's rude of you to do that to Turbo and compare him with someone who can't kick or pass.Northern Raider wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 5:31 pm Funny how a lot of you agree Turbo isn't a fullback for NSW but for the club he is. #delusional #nota1

Yes, well, it's rude of you to do that to Jack and compare him with someone whose hamstrings can't last more than a game or two.radicalraider wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 5:34 pmThat's rude of you to do that to Turbo and compare him with someone who can't kick or pass.Northern Raider wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 5:31 pm Funny how a lot of you agree Turbo isn't a fullback for NSW but for the club he is. #delusional #nota1

Re: 2020 Rd 7 V Cowboys: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
I just went and had a sober viewing/postmortem of film from the last 2 weeks (i.e trying to convince myself we aren't in a doom spiral).
Both games really only unravelled in the last 15 and 8 minutes respectively.
Is it naive to hope that both games involved a perfect storm of:
a) facing quality teams
b) injuries causing disruptive reshuffles; leading to
c) late game fade-outs.
I would like to convince myself that (b) above is maybe responsible for about a try at least in both games which takes them both to convincing/blowout win status.
Perhaps in a HIA free week/adequate coverage on the bench in the form of CHN will negate disruptions and prompt some improvement.
To take the Pollyanna view further, excusing the Warriors debacle and with better planning in the last 2 weeks (looking at you Sticky) we reasonably could have been 4-2 with two tough, but not massive losses against premiership contenders.
Any takers for the above or are we cooked?

That's a reasonable observation. Whether accurate or not we'll know in the coming weeks. Challenge is we have a trip to Townsville then a 5 day turnaround against the Bunnies. Not an easy task when you're looking to recharge the batteries.Mickey_Raider wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 5:52 pm I just went and had a sober viewing/postmortem of film from the last 2 weeks (i.e trying to convince myself we aren't in a doom spiral).

Canberra Raiders' bold new plan to improve sleep after away games
Canberra is looking into the possibility of staying overnight in Sydney after fixtures in the Harbour City, rather than taking a coach back to the capital which can mean arriving home as late as 3am. For this week's trip to Townsville, Stuart's men won't return to Canberra until Sunday. They have a five day turnaround to the next match against the Rabbitohs.
"You're better off having a good sleep after a game, your best rehabilitation and recovery is your sleep after a game," Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said.

Not naive at all. In fact this is probably the sanest take I've seen on this site in recent days.Mickey_Raider wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 5:52 pm I just went and had a sober viewing/postmortem of film from the last 2 weeks (i.e trying to convince myself we aren't in a doom spiral).

I think that confirms it’s about sending a message to Tapine.

Every single week we are going to be leaving out a good player from our forward pack, the numbers just don't go.

“Ol’ BJ Moley hearing word that Ricky Stuart isn’t happy with one of his top forwards”

Way too accurate for a report by any of the rugby league Moles. The Nickman wrote:It sounds like a perfect BJ Mole scoop to meBJ wrote:From the king of repeats over many years, thanks for pointing that out.The Nickman wrote:Which is essentially what GE just saidBJ wrote:I think that confirms it’s about sending a message to Tapine.

Even if we tighten up our defence which looked pretty decent over the first 4 rounds, we need mahooosive levels of improvement in our attack to even think about top 4.Raiders666 wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 9:05 pm The Top 4 is slipping away...We aren't anywhere near the level of play we need to be.
Parra, Penrith and Souths, Roosters don’t look to have many issues stacking on the points whereas we are struggling to get past 3 tries most weeks.

Don't forget the Storm...But yeah our attack is garbage compared to those 5 sides. We can't defend that great either at the moment eitherMickey_Raider wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 9:42 pmEven if we tighten up our defence which looked pretty decent over the first 4 rounds, we need mahooosive levels of improvement in our attack to even think about top 4.Raiders666 wrote: ↑April 23, 2021, 9:05 pm The Top 4 is slipping away...We aren't anywhere near the level of play we need to be.

Joel Caine mentioned on the ‘get em onside’ podcast that his mail is Elliot Whitehead will captain the raiders this week. Croker a late out maybe?
If true, I wonder if injured or dropped?
