Accident sure. Doing something illegal that interfered in the game though. That’s manslaughterBay53 wrote:Turn it up. We all know that was a complete accident.BJ wrote: ↑April 14, 2021, 9:44 pm If you were going to grade Trainer offences, I’d have the Raiders trainer at about a grade 2

Think there’s a grading system for trainer indiscretions?

Panthers have form right across the entire organisation. Last year when Jack winning the Dally M was leaked, the Panthers CEO commented after the ceremony and deliberately avoided using Jacks name saying words to the effect of ‘the player who won’ etc. No respect.

the problem with that incident was the rule was wrong. If the trainer interferes with the play, accidental or not, that team should be penalised.gangrenous wrote: ↑April 15, 2021, 7:30 amAccident sure. Re: Canberra Raiders fume over $10,000 fine for trainer
I couldn't give a stuff about the Panthers. I just think it is ridiculous that we are being penalised because a physio (he is a physio not a trainer - I don't quite understand why his name has to be a secret) was caught up in the middle of a melee that started outside the field of play and did nothing more than push his way out.

Canberra Raiders look for grounds to appeal massive fine
Canberra Raiders CEO Furner said he would explore all avenues before deciding how to respond to a $10,000 fine for a trainer's incidental involvement in a scuffle instigated by the Panthers on Friday night.
"We need to look at the rules. We've never had this happen to us before, we've never had a fine like this before. We'll work through it with the NRL," he said.

The two in the video come off as a pair of flogs. Pretty poor form that it is shared on the Panthers official account. They are not attracting a lot of love in the comments on social media.
I agree with the sentiment that beating them will shut them up.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Penrith Panthers boss defends ‘larrikin’ stars
Panthers chairman Dave O’Neill has hit back at the Canberra Raiders over claims the Penrith playing roster is littered with mug lairs.
"I’m not going to tell our players to stop doing anything. I don’t blame Don Furner for wanting to defend his players and defend his club but at our club Ivan has got everything under control. Jarome Luai is a larrikin. People celebrate Cameron Munster and they celebrated Cameron Smith but our players aren’t allowed to enjoy themselves?

Is it possible to make a casual observation that Penrith are a bunch of smug wankers who are just a little bit too pleased with themselves without being necessarily salty/angry/jealous/whatever you want to call it; or having anything to do with the Raiders?
If so put me down for one of those. If not, carry on.

I honestly do not get the hate for Luai at all. He just seems like a chilled out nice dude. Following his social media and it looks like a lot of Raiders players feel the same way.

But honestly for me I take way more stock in how a player conducts themselves off the field when it comes to who I 'hate'. This is rugby league not golf, people being grubby or pests is pretty commonplace. There would be quite a few Raiders players people on here would have to hate as well if that was the only factor.
