He'll be on the bench come kick off.
I think Hodgo will not play and one of the hookers will start.

Hence why I'm covering for him being on the bench by saying he's not starting him. He deserves to be the first player picked in that backline right now based on form, not dropped to the bench for Curtis Scott once he returns - IF in fact he does make it in.GreenMachine wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 4:31 pmHe'll be on the bench come kick off.

Kris was left out of the starting team the first game Croker came back then came in for Young. Just because he isn't in the starting 17 today doesn't mean he won't be come game day.Hong Kong Raider wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 4:26 pm Very disappointing side by Stuart. Two hookers again. Kris, one of our best players in the first 5 rounds, gets left out completely.
He really likes to think he knows it all to prove everyone wrong. Starting to get sick of this. We will be beaten again
Yeah you won't get an argument from me...afgtnk wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 4:35 pmHence why I'm covering for him being on the bench by saying he's not starting him. Scott can be in whatever form he likes - he's not a patch on what Kris can offer right now.
A reasonable statement. On recent form Scott has been on par with Kris and that's the best we've seen Scott play since joining the Raiders. When you average out both their performances Kris is well ahead IMO. I reckon Scott is getting some grace from Sticky due to his disrupted 2020. That grace will only go so far though. Scott needs to set up a notch.
Thing is we had a back on the bench for 10 of the first 11 rounds last season, up until Bateman came back and we signed CHN, whereby from then on Bateman was the back up outside back. It served us well, our bench seemed balanced. For the vast majority of the season, we had a spare player in the 17 very capable of playing in the 2-5.Canberra Milk wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 4:55 pm It's simple as this: Sticky thinks Whitehead is a reasonable centre option. And he won't change his mind easily.
He bought Scott for a reason, to be starting centre, he won't change his mind easily
He thinks he needs 4 middles on bench, he won't change his mind easily
He thinks the two Coreys have to wait weeks and weeks before they can come back, and won't change his mind easily
There's a pattern here...
Well said!Raiders666 wrote:I'm Rickys biggest fan but his team selection this year has been ordinary to say the least. He bangs on about competition for spots but it's only the forwards who get dropped for not performing.
Croker has been ordinary and Rapana hasn't been far behind..Simmo is basically a ghost on the field.
Soliola and Havilli getting gigs over CHN, Guler and Horse? Really?
Then he goes and drops one of our best players In Kris ?? What's the point in having all this depth and not dropping players who are out of form?
Well that's another thing innitRaiders666 wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 5:28 pm We look so tired after 30 mins of each game...Surely...Surely some fresh troops are just what we need.
We have looked slow and unfit all year to be honest...We are gassed after 30 mins of every gamePete Cash wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 5:30 pmWell that's another thing innitRaiders666 wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 5:28 pm We look so tired after 30 mins of each game...Surely...Surely some fresh troops are just what we need.
We looked so old against Penrith. It really showed the average age of the squad
It's not even close to be fair
Was about to launch into a wholehearted defence of Nathan Brown- ripper player. All my Parra fan mates/in laws rate him very, very highly. Then I saw Dylan Brown out. Meh.Roger Kenworthy wrote: ↑April 13, 2021, 5:40 pm
I find Dylan Brown to be inconsistent, and even on his best day he isn't going to rip you apart.
Cnk on the other hand is pretty much a top 5 defensive fullback week in and week out. His work in attack can be up and down, but he has a very strong baseline of performance.
