It’s about where I thought we were to be honest. A good team but we just lack attacking threats and speed. We can’t keep up with Melbourne, Penrith and the bunnies.

Not a fan at all of them mocking the Viking clap. Their team have been fantastic, why can’t they celebrate that without having a dig? It’s not like we’ve been leading with elbows or using dirty tactics.

Because they're insecure flogs, just like their team. Pathetic winners.
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

These types of games its very easy to be disappointed and upset at the end. And we have every right to be and I won't take away from anyone who feels that way.

For me I'm taking some perspective. This is a team who has lost only once in their last 23 or something. It was a huge occasion for them tonight. Pre season almost every fan would put Panthers away down as an L for their team and in this very thread most were saying they'd be happy to stay within 10.

We played poorly. No doubt. Some of our best were well below what they would normally be, and we know they can and will do better. We lost a key spine player forcing a big reshuffle which did us zero favours. In the end an extremely good side took advantage of this and beat us. It is what it is.

Its early in the season and we will learn and improve from this. This was always a game to show us where we were at and despite the scoreline I think all things considered it shows us we can compete, and when things click and we have some luck on our side we absolutely can beat the best in the comp. To say our season is done or that we are in some kind of world of trouble is insanity IMO.

80th min There's a dust up, Hudson Young in there. No penalty either way.

MATCH REPORT: Slick Panthers pack too much power for Green Machine

Charlie Staines flew down the sideline twice and Nathan Cleary sealed the deal as the Panthers blew past a gutsy Raiders outfit 30-10 at BlueBet Stadium on Friday night.

A double to Staines and Cleary's try late and four sideline conversions proved the difference on a night the Panthers were celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1991 premiership win.

Panthers a great team but too many of the carry on like total bell ends when they're winning.

Imagine being so insecure that you worry about what the opposition fans do when they celebrate a win?

How dare they mock us! Gee I hope they’re not using any bad language!!

So now you're allowed to just stand around holding the ball and talking trash and nothing happens. How that is any less likely to lead to a fight than the push Young did early in the game I'll never know.

Not our night tonight.
It isn't the end of the world.
Parra next week.

Would love to see a lift in energy.
More players in motion more often.

We look a bit passive.
We're probably not but compared to Penrith tonight that's how it looked.

Right now yes. Form at the back end is what counts though. We've got plenty of time to build up to the level needed.

Feeling just a bit gutted. Lots of dodgy decisions went their way.
Proud of the effort the boys put in. They didn’t give up. Losing CNK early made it really hard.

Nothing worth worrying too much about now. We saw how they collapsed on the big stage last year. We just need to keep picking up wins and shoot for top 4.
