I do love a Friday night game! For what it's worth I think this will be close. It will definitely be tough and I'm not expecting us to win but we won't be blown off the park and are definitely a few bits of luck and a break out game from Wighton away from a massive upset here!

If we’re within a try or winning the game headed into the final 20 I think we’ll find a way to win

Interested to see if we can get off to a good start instead of giving them 10-16 points head start

Gotta say I do enjoy the fact that these days when we play top sides its a game that all fans consider a big match and not just us.

Also means that the Panthers will be aiming up for this one too. Sold out crowd there and they are having their 91 team all getting together at the ground for a 30 year reunion/celebration type gig. This will be a massive test.

Attack and defend direct. Limit time to their halves. That'll be the focus. Oh and please don't fall for their kikau face ball pass.

Ricky would have done his homework with the coaching staff and watching how Melbourne played against Penrith in the GF and Qld against NSW when Cleary was the halfback. So Ryan James to put kick pressure on Cleary.

I expect to win and Ricky to get the boys up. Penrith are not at full strength in Edwards and Api being out. Need Wighton to show is Dally M and Clive Churchill form. The forwards will be good. Rapana and Simo need to contain their wingers. Tipping G Williams to be MOTM.

If Starling is being kept then I don't want him to be playing with Hodgson on.

This game will quite obviously test us - we'll be blowing. Being down a middle forward when you're struggling for players to take the ball up late in the game is far from ideal, especially when it's self inflicted.

I’m gritting my teeth and preparing for a very one sided commentary which is all Panthers. The tv has a strong guard around it in case of projectiles.
I really hope we get a fair go and rattle their cage big time.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Wonderful atmosphere here, ground is going to be packed, Penrith’s 1991 side going around the ground, Tina Turner being played. Very few of them are in green, but how good is it to have crowds back at the footy.

That happens every time we play Penrith... especially on channel 9. It's a fricken' love fest for them. Sickening.

CHN is a pretty sound 18th man selection, not that it’s likely to be used
But he can cover middle, edge and centre at a pinch

Agreed, I thought last week we needed to get Starling on a lot earlier. It would have freshened Hodgson up to ice the game at the end. Reality is that the game is quicker and he is a year older off the back of a knee reco. I would rather put less minutes through his legs this early in the season.

The teams head back into the sheds, but it is 12-12 between the Warriors and Sea Eagles at the Central Coast with less than 90 seconds remaining. Could be extra time.

Our boys look focused.
Ennis should not be commentating our games.

Hope we match it in the opening 10-20.

The Raiders are out on the field! Now the Panthers.

Nervous here in the commentary booth!

Both teams form a circle during a minute's silence for Tom Raudonikis.

Just noting that the precedent set in the Manly vs Warriors game is that you can do the wall again for field goals. I'm sure this will be consistently reffed for the rest of the season and applied equally to all teams.
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)
