It’s why he didn’t go to the Gold Coast and Elijah Anderson did.

A fractured larynx must be a lot less serious than it sounds. Semi Valemei only out for one or two weeks.

Jarrod Croker will undergo concussion protocols this week, while Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has returned to full training and will be assessed weekly to see when he may be available for selection.

The official report doesn't mention Semi Valemei at all... perhaps that suggests he is available for this week. Croker and Nicoll-Kokstad not on the list; the body of the report suggestive both might be available this week without actually saying it.

Also implies CHN has taken the early plea, not said explicitly but it’d be completely expected.

Ryan James fined for dangerous contact

Canberra Raiders forward Ryan James has been charged with Dangerous Contact Grade 1 on Chanel Harris-Tavita in a match against the Warriors, while on loan to the Canterbury Bulldogs. He has been fined $1500 - or $1350 if he makes an early plea. If he challenges and is found guilty he’ll be fined $1800. He had a 20 per cent loading for a previous incident in the past two years.

Bailey Simonsson out for 1-2 weeks with groin injury

It has been confirmed that Raiders winger Bailey Simonsson will be out for 1-2 weeks with a groin injury, after he was not named in the team to face the Roosters in Round 25.

Tom Starling (fractured jaw) could return as early as Week 2 of the finals, if the Raiders were to progress that far, while Jarrod Croker's possible return from a chronic knee injury has again been shifted back.

Corey Harawira-Naera will have served his suspension by the time Week 1 of the finals rolls around.

Injuries/Suspension

Bailey Simonsson – Groin – 1-2 weeks
Tom Starling – Jaw – 2-4 weeks
Corey Harawira-Naera – 1 week
Jarrod Croker – Knee – 1-2 weeks
Xavier Savage – Shoulder - Season

He moved from wing to centre during the game when he picked up the issue. Then Kris dropped the ball for the try. Then the interchange happened. This is the weirdest "injury to massage egos" we've had around here so far.

Gives a reasonable reason for coach to start two other centres round 1 and then they've got a few rounds to make themselves undroppable... If not we can hope for Croker's sake the op works and he can come back in and contribute after the first month or so.

Disappointing news about Savage too. Was hoping he'd be good to go in November.

As for Croker, gosh he is going to be in a bad way come next season. Another year with no pre season. And he'll be named at 3 despite no pre seaaon.

That gives an overview of the nature of the procedure for Jarrod. It doesn't look like a major surgery... though he might have to get a bit of a clean out too.
