Jack Wighton and Josh Papalii named amongst top five players of the year
Josh Papalii
When it came to dispensing blunt force, no player dished it out the way Josh Papalii did for Canberra and Queensland in 2020. The 118kg giant was the most feared and respected front-rower across the NRL as much for his power and timing in attack as for the brutality of his defence.
Jack Wighton
Jack Wighton’s development as an elite NRL performer continued in 2020. After making the switch from fullback to five-eighth 12 months earlier, the 27-year-old became entrenched in the role, harnessing the confidence gained from a Clive Churchill Medal-winning performance in the 2019 grand final to take his game to new levels.

The NRL Annual is being released electronically this year, hopes still that a physical copy will be issued in the New Year: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/12/18/the ... -no-other/

I'm relieved... would hate to have an Annual missing a year. The last year when one wasn't produced was 1997.

Interesting, all things being equal, Josh Papalli will become the 4th most capped Raider and out most capped forward in 2021. Needs to play 15 games to pass Woolford, Walters, Wiki and Tongue.
Would need to play 27 games to pass Daley and become the most capped Raider whose surname is not Croker. Probably more likely 2022 for that one.

I remember his debut- wondering whether a kid that young could actually cut it... yeah he did.
I remember the game where Furner gave him orders to drop the nice guy stuff and just target Gallen- at the time at his peak and the toughest forward in the game- Papa smashed him and a legend was born. Honestly the day he "really" arrived and an unsing Dave Furner masterstroke, forcing Papa to be what he really could be... shed the humility a bit.
Easily sits alongside those guys. Hope he wins a comp.

Papa and Lazarus are our two best ever props. Papa just needs a premiership or two to beat Lazzo.
