2020 Highs and Lows: Rookie of the Year

Every year, the readers of The Greenhouse vote on the highs and lows of the season just past. The Players of the Year are determined by the Fans' Choice voting, but all the other categories are determined by fan polls.

In this poll we are voting for the Canberra Raiders Fans' Choice Rookie of the Year. Under Dally M rules, all players other than Semi Valemei and Kai O'Donnell will still be eligible for Rookie of the Year in 2021. You have one vote in this poll.

The nominations are:

Semi Valemei (Debut: Round 10 V Roosters, 10 matches, nine on the wing, one off the bench, 4 tries, First try: Round 11 V Rabbitohs)

Kai O'Donnell (Debut: Round 9 V Storm, 4 matches, three at lock, one off the bench, 1 try, First try: Round 20 V Sharks)

Harley Smith-Shields (Debut: Round 11 V Rabbitohs, 2 matches, one at centre, one off the bench, 1 try, First try: Round 20 V Sharks)

Matt Timoko, (Debut: Round 16 V Bulldogs, 2 matches, one at centre, one off the bench)

Adam Cook (Debut: Round 20 V Sharks, 1 match, Fullback)

Darby Medlyn (Debut: Round 20 V Sharks, 1 match, Bench)

Jarrett Subloo (Debut: Round 20 V Sharks, 1 match, Bench)

Bit of a moot vote for this season, isn't it? Guess O'Donnell played 12 minutes of footy this season as well..

Here's to Timoko winning this title next year!

Semi played 10 games.
KOD, HSS, Timoko played 2 each.
Cook, Medlyn, Subloo (90secs) played 1 each.
This isnt a tough call.

Could be the weakest rookie year in memory. Valemei wins by default

Valemi by default really. Nobody else had enough game time.

Valemei is a better player than Sivo at the same age

While that is true I'm not sure of the relevance of your statement.

The fact only one of the seven was still in the team in the finals despite all being available says it all.
