Oh goody, it's time for the annual transformation of our Mild Mannered Skipper into Raging Angry Bull. Can't wait to see him disdainfully toss Dugan aside again!

I'm just hoping for no injuries or having to go through the ridiculously Sydney bias match review/judiciary. I'm also glad it's against the Sharks and not the Titans or Warriors who have been miles better than the garbage Knights and Sharks have been putting up recently.

Next week against Roosters/Penrith should be interesting. I'm thinking I would prefer Roosters, Penrith always seem to wreck us recently :(

Canberra Raiders set for finals crowd boost - to almost 10,000

The Canberra Raiders have been given permission to have more than 9600 fans at their elimination final against the Cronulla Sharks at Canberra Stadium on Saturday at 5.40pm - provided there are no sudden changes to the coronavirus landscape.

The increased figure is based on 50 per cent of the available seating at Canberra Stadium, with some parts of the grandstands unavailable due the required "clean zones" around the players and officials.

FINALS WEEK 1 DRAW

Friday, 7:50pm - Major qualifying final (1 v 4)
Panthers v Roosters at Panthers Stadium

Saturday, 5:40pm - Major elimination final (5 v 8)
Raiders v Sharks at Canberra Stadium

Saturday, 7:50pm - Minor qualifying final (2 v 3)
Storm v Eels at Lang Park

Sunday, 4:05pm - Minor elimination final (6 v 7)
Rabbitohs v Knights at Stadium Australia

Canberra Raiders hope for best as Ryan Sutton gets scans on knee

Canberra Raiders prop Ryan Sutton will get scans on Monday, with coach Ricky Stuart hoping he hasn't hurt his anterior cruciate ligament.

"He'll get scans [Monday], but we're just hoping it's not the ACL," Stuart said on Sunday. "It's just so disappointing for Ryan. He's had a wonderful season. It's sad."

Canberra Raiders out to prove NRL doubters wrong

It's Canberra against the world. Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has issued a call to arms as his team continues to prove the doubters wrong.

"It's good we get a little bit more of an increase in the crowd," he said. "When we've been playing in front of none, then 1500 to 3000 you really notice the noise they make and 9000 this week will be great.

Sutton wont be fit. Seemed like from Stuart at the presser it's at least an MCL and his season and done and fingers crossed not an acl
I also agree with that team.

Yeah I'm not very hopeful at all, just waiting for the confirmation. Hard to see him playing again until next year with the potential diagnoses thrown about.

It's a big loss given he's the one tasked to keep momentum up with Papa and/or Taps off, so we're very fortunate Sia's come back at just the right time.

Gutted for him, he's had a really strong season. Lot of people questioning him coming in, i was a pretty high on him and i think he justified that belief. Hopefully its not an ACL and he can be right for pre season.
If by some miracle he is available for selection then yeah i think it's either Sia or CHN and i think Sia offers the team some intangibles and a calming influence that is for me impossible to leave out for a finals run

I'd like Timoko to have that right centre spot, and cotric and raps on the wing for sure, maybe semi on the bench and havilli to play as a 60 minute middle.
CHN had a shocking defensive game, so maybe semi off the bench for cozza

So gutted for Sutton. Especially after missing the finals series last year. Really put in this year and had a great season. Hopefully he can bounce back and continue his solid improvement. I’ve got him starting in the 10 jumper next year, even with Ryan James coming. That will obviously depend on if it’s an ACL though, no chance to be back for round 1 if that’s the case, especially for a bloke of his size. Such a shame.

Dusty, that's the side I reckon Stick will run with. As much experience as possible to run on. The injury to Sutton is unfortunate but so were the long term injuries to HorsPower and Guler. Timoko to come in if Sticky wants a back on the bench.

I like what Valemei can bring to the team, but I subscribe to the theory of picking your best available players and on that basis I'd have Timoko in at centre with Rapa on the wing.

Won't happen though. In any case this should be a great game.

Yeah that's the team.

With Bateman and Young and CHN I don't think we need a back on the bench. Any of one them could handle a stint at centre if needed in a pinch, as well as being versatile edge/middles, with Bateman being the first candidate.

I agree. I am expecting utter chaos.

Emailing the link on the day is bad enough as it is , but the "You will receive an email either before or at 10am" bit worries me. Do they want to cut it any finer!!??

Has there ever been a big game when Ticketek didnt create total chaos?? I can’t believe they are not able to manage big event sales when they are a regular occurrence for such a company. I really want to get tickets, but I can do without this stress in my life right now :nooo

Agree with this but I’d start Havili with Starling to play 55-60 and Havili to become forward cover for a second stint if required.

I’m also a bit gutted for Sutton but Soliola is a pretty bloody awesome alternative.
