Canberra Raiders CEO Don Furner confident of finding new major sponsor
Raiders CEO Don Furner is confident the can find a new major sponsor - after Huawei vacated the jersey front.
"It's a tough time for all businesses in Australia and around the world. We'll get out there and do our best. We've spoken to a couple of companies, but it's a tough market at the moment so we've got to do our best and I'm quite confident we'll land somebody.

Re: Huawei ends major sponsorship agreement
Whatever your thoughts on the political aspects, history has shown we can't always afford to be picky.
I am sure that any Australian business we try to court will have paid very close attention to the fact that we made the Grand Final last year but were only given three free to air games this year. The logical conclusion they'll draw from that is that "even if they win the Grand Final they still won't get much in the way of free to air exposure".
Potential sponsors will most likely also have noted that nearly all of our home games this year were played at night time during the Canberra winter, meaning not only will they lack for FTA exposure, they will lack crowd exposure too.

Surely the climate is right for a pharmaceutical company?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Re: Huawei ends major sponsorship agreement
With the recent surge in toilet paper sales and being such a reputable company, Kleenex certainly have the runs on the board.

Re: Huawei ends major sponsorship agreement
There's still plenty of businesses doing a roaring trade at the moment, we'll find somebody.
JB Hi-Fi continues its juggernaut retail presence, Coles and Woolworths aren't going anywhere, then you've got behemoths like Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. Then there's utility providers like ActewAGL... and pretty much everything in the telecommunications space.
In fact, if I had to make a shot-in-the-dark based on pure gut feel (and not much else) I'd guess iiNet, or someone that fills a similar sort of niche. They're a national company that has a special Canberra link with their VDSL2 network that competes directly with the NBN (the former TransACT network). I could definitely see them using a relationship with the Raiders to clue Canberrans in to the fact that there's an NBN alternative in our market, while also benefitting from the national exposure for their other products.
Given the sheer number of companies out there, I'm sure I'll be completely wrong since the odds of picking the right one are abysmally poor, but given what we have to work with I think it's a good guess.

Reject Shop are also going through a massive revamp, and are reportedly killing it during these times where others have struggled.
On the one hand, having Reject Shop on the jersey might open up some jibes, but on the other hand it’s not as bad as Sydney Tools on the front of the Bulldogs

Up the Milk? Canberra Raiders' major sponsor hunt begins
While no formal discussions have taken place with the Raiders, it's believed Canberra Milk have discussed the possibility internally of again becoming the club's major sponsor.
"One of the first things we do is to speak to our incumbents and we've got a few that are there," he said. "First thing we would do is ask them if they'd be interested in stepping up. Canberra Milk obviously would be fantastic, but we've just got to go through that process."

"...famous war cry that lives to this day... " No one ever said that before last year's Betoota Advocate. I dislike the term myself... they're a commercial sponsor, not the team.

2022 Raiders jersey with Canberra Milk on the front and no Huawei in sight? I'd buy that.
Re: Huawei ends major sponsorship agreement
Since the Libs are again bowing down further to the Queen and the old alliances, maybe one of those big bloated defence contractors like Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, BAE Systems etc could throw us a few mil?

Just looking over the old jerseys after seeing that Canberra Milk post, it occurred to me, I don't know what Woodgers is, apart from a GH poster.
