Imagine signing Scott instead of Lomax

Unfortunately Lomax turned us down before we signed Scott.radicalraider wrote:Imagine signing Scott instead of Lomax

This time tomorrow we'll be feeling the same as eels fans are right now

We had a pretty good crack at him but he stayed where he was in the end- that happens. Not a huge fail. Myself and most posters thought Scott was a decent bet back then.
But yeah I'd been keen for Lomax too at the time and he's certainly kicked on.

False dawns or flat out failures it really is an empty void.
This place is woke.

Zim, thanks to the Storm victory over the Chooks we have the opportunity to draw level on competition points this round. We play the Chooks in early September and again need to win to get us ahead on competition points. This will take F/A out of the equation. As always, our season is in our hands.
C'mon Raiders, get this win and those vital 2 competition points. I want to see us driving them backwards in tackles and pressure, pressure, pressure on our kick chase which must arrive in a straight line. No more going to sleep in our goal line defence either. No such call as 'yours' particularly on our goal line. Just focus on the bloke with the ball Raiders.

Ricky Stuart interview on ABC Canberra Grandstand:
What's been the focus this week? I've asked the team to correct what we got wrong last week. We lost 25 minutes of the game, and we've been working on improving the key areas behind that. We need to execute better. We need to be better, we need to correct our attack, not scoring enough points at the moment, so we've been working on that.
Determination of the side to come back against the Panthers? That's their DNA. One thing I love about coaching this squad, its their heart, their fight, their determination. I spoke about it at half time, spoke about being the first to score a try, and bit by bit, getting back into the game. We slowly clawed our way back. They have a lot of fight in them. This week's been a really good week in terms of their attitude, to get better and get a result.
Dangerous game, does it worry you? It does, it puts us in a difficult position. They have their backs to the wall, considerable criticism of their whole season, everyone expects us to win by 40. They have nothing to lose. It makes it a real danger game for us.
COVID protocols? Has been a weird season. Sticking to the protocols, staying inside the bubble is difficult. But it is a choice we've got, to keep the game going. It's second nature to agree to a selfie or shake hands. We know we can't go to pubs or restaurants. We've just got to be strong and disciplined. If the season gets affected by a poor choice, not only this year, but probably next year will get affected.

Our chances are certainly a lot better now the chooks have been absolutely devastated by injury. You could see them dropping another game against someone like the sharks as well. So the equation has changed from us having to win every single match to we can probably drop one and still make it. Not impossible but will still be tough.RedRaider wrote: ↑August 15, 2020, 7:31 amZim, thanks to the Storm victory over the Chooks we have the opportunity to draw level on competition points this round. I think you're right. The secret to getting well over Brisbane is actually to forget about racking up cricket scores and just stick to those disciplined basics. That's what Brisbane are crap at- that's where to break them. Enthusiasm. Discipline. Make it hard. If you play sloppy and just try to run and gun and score off every play then Brisbane's lone talents can match that. But they have been poor at really digging in for each other when it gets tough.RedRaider wrote: ↑August 15, 2020, 7:31 amZim, thanks to the Storm victory over the Chooks we have the opportunity to draw level on competition points this round. If we play a bit lazy as a team then Brisbane man for man can win some individual battles out there.

Professor Farnsworth scores
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
