Ryan James to raiders hey
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Yep, looked like a veteran. Slotted right in.

Last week Valemi looked like a deer in the headlights but was much more comfortable this week too.

This is what committed defensive play brings, 2 competition points. At half time they were leading 12-10 but the Raiders put on a second half shut out to give themselves the opportunity to win the game. The forwards were immense. The handling of the backs sensational from JC, Rapa and Cotric in particular and on such a wet night. The front row did it for us for the second week in succession. Our missed and ineffective tackles were well down this week and they needed to be. The new blokes have all stood up when they needed to.

If I have a criticism it would be Sutton in attack. He twice contacted defenders which cost EW a try off a great Lui pass and later cost a penalty for running into a defender. I am impressed with his defence but he really needs to put more thought into his decoy running.

On to Nth Qld next Saturday after a 7 day turn around. Interesting to see if Papa and Tapine can play under the 'no jab no play' rules in Qld.

Met him during Grand Final week in Martin Place last year, an amazing guy, gave lots of his time to the kids and if he can get by without injury he will be a great fit at prop. I reckon we got him cheap too

Disagree and didn't he excel at 13 for Dogs last year
Would anyone at that rabble of a club? If he did that's certainly a good sign for taking the 13 but I doubt he comes straight into the starting lineup.

We did sign him, two years. His contract is pending him passing a medical examination though it appears.

Couldn't be any prouder. Not pretty, but my god we're gritty (there's a rap song in that somewhere). The resilliance in this team is something to behold. Something we didn't have 2 years ago. We got a gutsy group of blokes, and at the risk of sounding melodramatic I was nearly moved to tears tonight. Doesn't matter what goes against us, they just keep turning up... great win

Such a tough win. Can’t fault the effort or commitment of the entire 17. Senior players really stepping up and showing the fill ins the way.

That was a really gutsy win from a team that is down on troops and having to make positional adjustments mid game.

I completely agree with Ricky that it shows the character of the team that they found a way to win that game because there was every opportunity to lose and and plenty of excuses to justify it but the team ripped in and did the job.

The tries may have been lucky but they all came from players being in good positions and making good plays in difficult situations. Croker and semi with great reactions and Cotric with the strength and speed to create a try.

The forward pack did a massive job under very difficult conditions and in a game where the Bunnies line speed all night was seriously unbelievable. This made getting any momentum, especially coming out of our own end incredibly difficult but we kept grinding, kept getting to the kick and when necessary, defending our errors.

The play of the balls were probably the slowest in any game I have seen this year and Klein seemed unwilling to do anything about it which contributed to the dour nature of the contest.

What was very clear tonight is that the senior players in our team are good enough that the young players can come in and not feel like they are under too much pressure. This gives them the chance to find their feet and just do a job without the weight of the world on their shoulders. This is why teams like the chooks and storm have been so successful in bringing juniors up and it is great to see it happening at our club.

This isn’t a well oiled machine yet but with a better run of games over the next month and hopefully a few important ins to the team we have every chance to push for the top 4 this season.
