With Manly and Knights losing this week we aren't even that far out of touch atm. However we will be soon if we keep dishing up this crap.

This Hudson Young issue may be a thing by tomorrow...
Thought he played well too, hes going to improve the more he plays.
I can see why Ricky is backing him for his talent

Re: 2020 Rd 8 V Dragons: Teams and Previews
It’s not a “thing” or an “issue”. If it were he wouldn’t have been cleared to play in the first place.

Nothing to see here. You will recall a few weeks ago one of the Morris boys did the same thing.
Apparently beanies and big headphones are big culprits and elevate head temp.
As GE points out there is no thing, no issue, nada

GE, it is a thing and issue, he will be scrutinised by the media because of his past.
Fact....
Do you know how the media works with NRL players ? (Hypocriticaly)

I thought Young was pretty solid last night but he did run out of puff.

Sharks players didn't douse themselves in cold water to pass a temperature check... duh
Re: 2020 Rd 8 V Dragons: Teams and Previews
Im not seeing anyway this is a thing.
I thought Young was one of our best against Parra, liked a lot of the work he did. More of that and fans will quickly forget about his controversial start to his career

Re: 2020 Rd 8 V Dragons: Teams and Previews
Yeah it's happened at other games and they were led into air conditioned rooms, pop a couple of panadol/ibuprofen to help lower body temp and take the test again in 15 mins. You can do whatever you want in that intervening time, cold showers etc.
Re: 2020 Rd 8 V Dragons: Teams and Previews
He's satisfied me that he is an NRL standard player (how good, well we'll see but he's got enough about him to be my backup edge player). The fitness will improve pretty rapidly, he's young, mobile and not carrying any extra weight.

Canberra Raiders stars Sia Soliola and George Williams defend fiery Corey Horsburgh reaction
Canberra Raiders players have leapt to the defence of passionate forward Corey Horsburgh, whose fiery departure during their loss to Parramatta could be his last NRL act for months.
"I feel for him. He's worked hard to get to where he is," Sia Soliola said. "He'll bounce back, he's a strong kid. He's a fiery ball of energy, isn't he? And it showed at the weekend."

George Williams broke his nose in Eels clash, but doesn't expect to miss game time
Raiders halfback George Williams suffered a broken nose in Saturday's loss to Parramatta but insists he won't miss any action. The club is awaiting scans on forward Corey Horsburgh's foot injury.
"I think it's a Lisfranc or whatever it is; I think it's a tough ankle injury," Williams said. "Hopefully it's not too bad and he gets a speedy recovery."

Re: 2020 Rd 8 V Dragons: Teams and Previews
Might be worth giving a rookie middle or second row a run this weekend. With zero depth we need to get some game time under their belt. You wouldn't want them debuting against the Storm or Roosters.

One thing that was very encouraging from CNK point of view... that try saver he did on Sivo.
He would’ve seen Tedesco get destroyed a week prior, (I’d like to think he) probably thought of what he’d do if in the situation and he executed it perfectly.

I think this will happen, but if we want to be considered as genuine contenders after the last couple of weeks, we need to win 13+, and TBH, it needs to be 3 scores +++ (yes 13 is 3 scores, but Im sure you know what I mean)

Good work Ricky!
Re: 2020 Rd 8 V Dragons: Teams and Previews
What in the NAME OF GOD is the point of having Curtis Scott in the 14????
Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I’d say it’s just injury cover. All of our other outsides backs are injured (rapa) or in the starting side. If a back goes down you don’t want whitehead to have to play centre when we’re already down on forwards (Bateman and Horse)T_R wrote:What in the NAME OF GOD is the point of having Curtis Scott in the 14????
