2020 Fans' Choice Player of the Year

The Fans' Choice Player of the Year has been awarded since 2004 with an impressive roll call of winners, including Ruben Wiki, Alan Tongue, Terry Campese, Shaun Fensom, Jarrod Croker, Josh Hodgson, Jordan Rapana and Nick Cotric. Josh Papalii won the award for a record third time in 2019. An individual trophy, sponsored by The Greenhouse, is presented to the winning player at season's end.

We have built a great tradition with this award at The GH, and you can be part of it!

Who will be the winner in 2020? It is you who will decide!

In the Fans' Choice Player of the Year, you can register your votes here for the top performed Raiders player, on a 3-2-1 basis. The rules are you can only allocate 6 points or less each round, and can split them any way you like, but no "half" points are permitted and no player can be awarded more than 3 points.

So, you can give the best player 3 points, the second best 2 and the third best 1, in the traditional way. Or you can give two players 3 points each. Or you can give 3 players 2 points each etc. No half points are permitted.

At sometime after Tuesday each week, all the points awarded by everyone to each player each round will be aggregated and then the top three players will be awarded 3, 2, 1 points.

Only votes made by Raiders fans in posts on this thread on The Greenhouse and in response to the post on The Greenhouse Facebook Group will count.

In this thread, feel free to speculate on who will be the player of the round prior to the match.

But 3-2-1 votes can only be made AFTER completion of the match in this thread.

hmmmm... it's a tough one. The best players had glaringly bad errors and the ones who didn't were quiet.

2 - Whitehead...just like last week - solid on both sides of the ball.
1 - Havili...added energy with the ball when he came on.
1 - Horsburgh...some good hits in defence.
1 - Wighton...tried hard with the ball and saved tries with one-on-one goal line tackles.
1 - Williams...Hodgo gave him nothing to work with, but he tried a few long balls, and in a game where everything else was either one-out or boring sweep plays, you've got to give him a point for trying anything at all.

-1 for Ricky Stuart. We could play the Roosters 100 times and never beat them with the "game plan" we used on Sunday. Get some bodies in motion, Ricky!

3- Whitehead. he always has a dig and made some impact in the game, even amid a team that for long periods didn't look too threatening as a whole. It's not just the workrate with this guy- it's that he can get through the work and THEN still produce the moments of high quality execution or big plays.

2- Havilii. One of the few who performed his job description to the letter. Bench impact forward came on and added energy and an extra dimension.

1- Williams. Some nice kicks and long passes I'd like to encourage more of. We are very predictable for long stretches but GWilly is willing to throw a wide ball out our end or similar, which we need more of.
