This week's games... on YouTube... might be a bit of Tigers and Roosters overkill...

State of Origin, Wednesday 7.30pm: Game 2, 2005. Andrew Johns makes his comeback for NSW, whilst Queensland greats Darren Lockyer and Johnathan Thurston aim to seal the series with a Queensland win

Fans’ choice, Thursday, 7.30pm: 2010 qualifying final match between the Wests Tigers and Roosters.

Friday classic, 7.30pm: 2016 semi-final Cowboys against the Broncos.

Saturday night feature, 7.30pm: Round 24 of 2011 - Roosters v Sharks.

Grand final Sunday, 4pm: 2005 Wests Tigers v North Queensland.

Easter Monday bonus, 4pm: Round 7 2014 Eels v Wests Tigers.

If that Roosters v Tigers game is the one I'm thinking then it's an absolute cracking game.

Well that was a heap of fun watching that! Especially the looks on Elliott’s face when they frequently crossed to him in the Panthers coach’s box.

Will be interesting to review the Game Day thread now: https://www.thegh.com.au/forum/viewtopi ... =2&t=11521

I loved this part in the game day thread:
"Herbert could be a real gooden for us. I read here from time to time he hasn't got much of a running game but its certainly better than Dobsons and he is sound defence. I'm actually suprised Dobson got a run ahead of Herbert. Interesting to see how consistant he is.
And it all happened against Mr Matt (worst thing to happen to the Raiders) Elliott. :D
everytime he ran the ball he looked like he would bust them open...and several times he did

forget carney, this bloke is the future...

The glory days of Marc herbert ey? Oh boy, how short lived that was.

Great watch. Just one of those games where everything went right. And Penrith were absolutely abhorrent; some of the worst defence you will ever see in FG.

Also Tonguey kissing the badge is worth the watch alone.

I also second the people in that other thread who said Thurling was underrated. At the very least I don't think he was a ploder.

Always remember Joe Picker scoring and Dave Furner riding in in the coaches box. I reckon we were 6-0 down at half time but it was one of our best halves and then we got rewarded in the second half when we just exploded.

I am sure that is the game.

2008 against the Storm - Monday night, Withers and Tongue out, Buttriss makes his debut after having been sent to Souths Logan. We run them close but get beat in the end? Am I right?

Panthers game - it snows in warm up but but we carve them up, Campo almost breaks Mal’s record but gives the last kick to Herby. Thurling scores 3 tries. Big night at the Tradies afterwards.

23-16

Carney, Dobson and Campo all in the same team. Gave the attack a different dimension.

Buttriss played very well, looked very promising

But this was in the period where we couldn't buy a win against the storm

This week's games...

State of Origin, Wednesday April 29, 7.30pm. Game 1, 1998. It's Alf v Joey with a bit of Locky magic thrown in the mix.

Fans' choice, Thursday, April, 30 7.30pm. The two games up for voting are the 2011 Round 25 match between the Sea Eagles and the Storm or the 2014 Round 1 Sea Eagles versus the Storm. Head to the NRL Facebook page to vote on the games.

Friday Classic May 1, 7.30pm. It's the 1994 Major Semi-final when the Bulldogs and Raiders clashed.

Saturday May 2, 7.30pm. Brisbane's first match in the NRL when the Broncos took on the Sea Eagles in Round 1 in 1988.

Grand Final Sunday, May 3, 4pm. It's the 2013 decider when the Roosters played the Sea Eagles.

Read more: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/04/06/nrl ... ery-night/

They seem to like serving us up losses, if they cover the Raiders at all.

This week’s games...

State of Origin, Wednesday, May 6, 7.30pm. Game 3, 2002. With the series level at 1-1 which team came out on top in the decider?

Fans' Choice, Thursday, May 7, 7.30pm. The game you get to decide. This week the 2008 semi-final clash between Brisbane and Melbourne has got the nod over the 2006 preliminary final between the Bulldogs and the Broncos. Go to the NRL Facebook page to see how the votes finished up.

Friday Classic May 8, 7.30pm. It's back to round 22, 1992 for King Wally's farewell match as the Gold Coast Seagulls take on the Panthers.

Saturday, May 9, 7.30pm. If you love a points-fest, the 2003 round 10 Sea Eagles v Eels clash will sate your appetite.

Grand Final Sunday, May 10, 4pm. It's one of the great finishes in a decider when the Sea Eagles and Knights face off in the 1997 grand final.

You pretty much cover my memories of the game 100%. I was listening to it on the radio at work which is why it stands out so much for me. I remember them saying how good we looked with Campo, Dobbo and Carney all in the lineup together. I think Dobbo was taking off the England the next week so that combo never got a chance. Not that it would have mattered with Carney being gone in a few weeks.
