Canberra Raiders Josh Hodgson supports Captain's Challenge... but says the new system is confusing
Canberra Raiders co-captain Josh Hodgson has come out in support of the new captain's challenge to be introduced in 2020 - but thinks the limits on the challenges are confusing.
"Good idea, great decision but there’s so many different rules… It's not as black and white as it first sounded. I’m all for it if it is going to help the game," Hodgson said.

Is there a way he can steal the oppositions challenge?

Canberra Raiders co-captain Josh Hodgson calls for more time on NRL captain's challenge
The Canberra Raiders co-captain Josh Hodgson thinks, given the complexities of the NRL captain's challenge, it's too late to change the rules before the 2020 season.
"It's pretty complicated to be honest. I think to bring it in so close to the season is not ideal. Give teams a full pre-season of practicing it and getting it right."

Re: Canberra Raiders Josh Hodgson supports captain's challenge
The best suggestion I heard- which would also speed up the game immeasurably.
Is to scrap all the referee referals- just have the refs make the call as they see it. Captains have the right to challenge if they think a howler has been made (1 per half, keep it of you're correct- maybe 2?) and then it can go to the bunker.
Instead of having this complicated mess we get a faster game, the refs are under less pressure, player whinging is reduced as they can challenge if they really think its worth it and the players - who have a feel for what really happened- are less frustrated as they play a part in reffing the game.
If you waste your challenge for spurious or tactical reasons then you're at the mercy of taking the calls as they come so you pay a price.

Hate this new colonels challenge.
General play decisions should never be able to be challenged. They also shouldn’t be changed once made (cummins you dog).
1 challenge per half in relation to tries. Thats it. Everything else moves on with the pace of the game.
