Looks like the Raiders cannot count the trial to Hudson Young's suspension.

Any word on what the problem is with Seb Kris? It was mentioned on The Canberra Times website, but it's paywalled.
Some people talk about the weather. Others do something about it.

Luke Bateman’s return on hold as he starts forestry work in Queensland... while John Bateman recovering well

Luke Bateman was set to make his long-awaited return to rugby league after a year out and appear in the New South Wales Cup this season for the Mount Pritchard Mounties, a Canberra Raiders feeder club. However, as is common for almost everyone in 2020, he’s had an abrupt change of plan.

“When the competition shut down my stepfather rang me and said ‘you have a job with me if you want it’ so I got to Brisbane before the boarders closed off and went to work with him,” Bateman said.

Canberra Raiders star reveals he’s in doubt for NRL return as coronavirus impacts rehab routine

Canberra enforcer John Bateman has revealed a drastically reduced rehabilitation program will impact on his NRL return after undergoing shoulder surgery late in the pre-season.

“Considering I had an operation not too long ago it probably put me behind a few weeks,” Bateman said. “When it all stopped, there was literally no treatment at all. We weren’t allowed even to go in (to the club). It was more or less do what you can really at home.

No one get injured this round dammit. Would like at least one round this year at full strength and I'm sure the tigers would appreciate us putting on our best.

John Bateman ateman has had successful surgery on his shoulder and is expected back this season. Raiders Coach Ricky Stuart said he would not put a time frame on his potential return and would instead focus on getting him ready when the time was right.

When the time was right ... to fly back to England. Can't do that for some time so recovery time is indefinite? At this rate he will receive a full years pay and do his rehab. I have less confidence we will see him in green again due to the non-commitment comments from Sticky.

Canberra Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh ruled out of West’s Tigers match

Corey Horsburgh has been ruled out of Saturday night’s match against the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium.

Horsburgh has a case of gastro and will not play. Ryan Sutton comes into the Raiders 17 man squad, while Kai O'Donnell has been included in the extended bench after receiving approval from the NRL this morning.

Just watched the replay of Big League Wrap, with an Elliott Whitehead interview. He said it is uncertain, but Bateman might be out for a further eight weeks.

Not surprised on Bateman. If they have to go and operate again because the last one failed it means they are either doing the (much worse) operation they were hoping the minor fix would head off in the first place (but it didn't) or it all went pear shaped and now it's a royal mess in there.

I've mentally got him in the "would be nice but probably never again" category.

Seen nothing on Wighton's liklihood of a return. However, Elliott said that Jack had to have stitches near his eye with no pain killer in the sheds afterwards. Because it was too close to his eyeball and the nerves. He's a tough player, no doubt.

Indeed... i think as long as there is no eye socket or cheek bone fracture he'll play... and i would think? we'd know if he had that by now, no?

He'd have been sent for a scan today, if needed... tomorrow morning at the latest.

Given how the teams been named we'd be playing Frawley at 6 if Wighton is out. I mean it wouldn't matter who was coming in. We've all seen what Turbo has done to Sammy in the past.

People were describing it as more of a cut eye than a smashed face.

From memory he had the head clash with Rapana _after_ he did his eye so I imagine if there'd been a fracture there's no way he'd have bounced out of that later head clash so readily and played on just fine.

Based just on that, I'm pretty optimistic.

I would have thought so before all this drama. He was a maniac with his eye socket fracture.

But yeah, I can't imagine him being gung ho about an earlier comeback on a twice operated shoulder... career limiting move if he gets it wrong.

Yeah me too, that second head clash gave me a lot of confidence that they didnt think there was any fractures. Still i'd like it confirmed

Hoping John Bateman will return in "six to eight weeks".

Hoping that Corey Horsburgh could return for the final "couple of games" of the regular season if things go well with his recovery.

Canberra Raiders hold breath as Sia Soliola faces potentially season-ending surgery

Sia Soliola has fractured the palate area of his face and he has to wait for the swelling to go down before he can under the knife. He's facing a lengthy stint on the sidelines and could potentially be out for the rest of the 2020 NRL season. The Raiders are hoping Emre Guler does not have a syndesmosis injury and might only be out for 2-4 weeks rather than double that.
