Depends if we need another forward, depending on Sia, if he ever plays again.
Or chase a back, I would prefer a pangai type player for next season to give us some more mongrel, since Johnny will be gone
Pangai, no thanks, not unless cheap and willing to learn.
Awesome talent, can turn it on. However only plays half the game, defence being the half that is missing. Is seriously as dumb as a box of hammers as he never learns from doing stupid stuff.

650k for 1 season to prove himself. If not early release next year.. he will have to take a pay cut to play in the green again
Im not sure about this bloke. Not doubting his potential but will cost an arm and a leg and i dont think he delivers the consistency that you'd expect for the $ he'd expect. Would be a good signing for a club like the dogs
I think he could provide some real x factor for us, but not sure we could afford him. Some games he has looked close to a million dollar player but those games are about once per year.

I agree with this comment and the comments above. Just doesn't deliver consistently enough compared to other 2nd rowers like Kikau, Fifita, Bateman - with a similar price. Also hot head and gets suspended for at least a couple of games per season. He is interesting but would not take a pay cut to 400,000 for us to be interested. He's not better than CHN or Whitehead even if you don't look at the price.

In the NRL rich 100 list comments under TPJ said we offered him $900k last year and he accepted $650k to stay at the Bronx
He might be regretting that now. I can't say I like how he just rings up other clubs... and wants to go there... whenever things get tough.
TPJ is a potential game breaker. There are very, very few forwards who break that many tackles and offload so plentifully and he makes yards too. Defensively hard to judge in a poor team but you'd back him to improve in our team- and he has improved his D quite a bit in his recent rounds compared to the first few efforts.
His price tag would be high, so even with most of Bateman/Cotric $$$ left (CHN would be on less than we had set for Bateman) we'd need to move a forward or two along to accomodate him. Which is fine- move along ok players to secure a very good (potentially) player...
But if Don sounded him out and he knocked back 900k from us before, I don't think we'd be in the running now. There'll be interest from Tigers, Dogs, Saints etc.
A big **** no to Pangai Jnr. Downhill skier and grub to boot. Wouldn't get our money's worth at all and would drive us mad with the amount of stupid **** he does.

Put me in the 'No' camp for TPJ. Agree with afgtlkszk that we've got cover in those positions and if the money was available it's best directed elsewhere i.e. numbers 1-5

Agree 100%.
Plus throw in the fact he looks to be heading for the hills now that things are tough at the Broncos.

Absolutely. That attitude indicates to me he's a passenger of the highest order. Puts in an inconsistent half arsed effort most weeks and then shops himself to the competition front-runners to wrangle a contract.
Terrible attitude. We tried to entice him here last time he was up for renewal. No thanks.
Dont get the obsession with vaughan. Dont get me wrong, hes a good player but wont shift the dial for us and is another bloke who will cost us more than what he will deliver.. at best id have him on par with guler and horsburgh.. we are better than this lads.. talk to me about kikau or lolo and you'll have my interest. Heck id even get excited for someone like jack Hetherington.. pass on the washed up old dudes and spoilt bratts who have no regard for their team mates or fans or honoring contracts within 1 year of signing them

I've been a fan of hetherington for a couple of seasons, he's just raiders DNA
I always bet on talent and i've still got great belief that TPJ in the right situation, in the right spot could be something truly to behold.
If the club did it, i would support it because im a degenerate gambler whose always going to take my shot at the jackpot but it's probably the wrong decision for our club at this time given it's cap position. This is someone elses gamble to take.
But it's a good gamble and there should half a dozen clubs lined up to take it imo

Fans from plenty of clubs saying they want Hethero at their club next year.
We've taken our risk on James. Vaughan would just be getting in the way of Guler doing the same things he can for us.
