Another controversial moment.

Can the NRL get anything right ?
I guess the judges changed their minds then... I thought the NRL made it quite clear that it was allowed, or did they change their minds on that yet again!?
Apparently, they told him he was the winner (maybe level with another player), but Darren Lockyer's votes hadn't been counted yet!

It is almost laughable how incompetent the NRL is.
Not sure whether to laugh or cry. It takes special talent to be this incompetent! What the hell were they doing telling anyone anything before all the votes have actually been counted.

I never bet, but I had $20 on Wighton to win the CCM. Unfortunately I did it as a multi with the Raiders 1-12 as it's so rare to win it in a losing team. Bummer.

I thought he had a fantastic game. Terrible scenes from the Roosters fans who booed him. He was clearly the best player on the park IMO.

Goodness knows how they stuffed it up with the JWH thing. Classic NRL.

I honestly believe we had the two best players on the park Sunday night. Wighton and CNK.

Papa was immense. He was the main reason why we attained ascendency in the first half, but I thought Jack's kick and chase game shut down Tedesco, his defence effectively negated the Roosters' right hand side attack (and created a few turnovers) and his running game pressured them all game. He worked so well with Toots on that edge in both attack and defence.

I reckon it was the best game he's played. Papa and CNK were great though. Such a great team performance.

If you want to see incompetence and unprofessionalism, rewatch the start of the presentation. Someone tells Greenberg to tell Bracey. You can actually hear over the mic that Greenberg says Wighton.

Then what follows is nothing short of embarrassing. Greenberg starts it and Clyde and Pearce end it. Chinese whispers. I think it was Ricko Waterhouse or Clydey who you could actually see the shock on their face when they heard right that it was Wighton.

Once again, amateur hour by the NRL.

Nobody except James Bracey should have known who was getting that award before the announcement.

One day the NRL will do a grand final as well as the AFL (maybe).

Weren't there only 3 votes to count? Daley, Meninga and Lockyer? It's not like they needed a calculator.

They said on NRL360 last night that each person voted via an App on their phone. Meninga and Daley were able to submit their votes in this manner. JWH was leading. Lockyer could not access the App due to his network not working. He was found on the field and submitted his votes verbally. His votes meant Wighton won.

I'd say JWH was 1 vote ahead of Jack and then Lockyer gave Jack 3 votes and JWH either 1 vote or no votes.

Well, whoever leaked the leaderboard probably needed one... since he or she must've thought JWH was already a shoe-in even with Lockyer's votes still waiting to be counted. Or maybe he or she just didn't realise there were more votes to come.
In any case, the result should never have been leaked before the final outcome has been decided, especially when there is a betting market involved.
The NRL can't seem to do anything right!

Ironic the two Raiders votes had JWH winning

I know. JWH played great but I thought Cordner was their best. And I am biased but I honestly had 8 Raiders in my top 10 on the field Sunday night - CNK, Croker, Leilua, Wighton, Papalii, Hodgson, Bateman, Whitehead.

If you do, don't watch the 60th minute of the game. Not blaming Leilua, but him not getting a pass off there is the moment that still hurts the most from Sunday night.
