Probably a fair analysis of the game.Hong Kong Raider wrote: ↑October 6, 2019, 9:06 pm Ben Cummins - there was no way to explain what happened. Definitely six again. Can Hasler share Annelsey's number?
But BJ - although he had a great game - cost us the game - twice. One was his late pass, the other being out of position for the Roosters' try.
Wighton had a better 4 weeks than Munster and Keary. Should be Australian No 6.
We played very well to keep Tedesco, Keary and Latrell quiet.
Liu and Tapine are liabilities - I told you so.

Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Wow.. the 6 again call happened right in front of us.
I don’t know what to say really.
So brave, we had chances...we got zero luck.

We should hold our heads up high - played a great game, nearly everyone played well, we were written off by everyone, Gould saying we would lose by 18 points.
We have a very good team, not a great team.
We will be back - but we'll need luck as well. I thought we got the rub of the green on the sin bin as well as some dropped balls (Whitehead in particular).
If we scored when Cronk was in the bin it would have changed everything - the Leilua late / forward pass was the turning point

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
Agree, BJ pretty much cost us the game. His failure to pass to Rapana is perplexing as he is suppose to have a tight rapport with him. Also, his tardiness to get to marker for the last Rorter's try was egregious!Hong Kong Raider wrote: ↑October 6, 2019, 9:06 pm Ben Cummins - there was no way to explain what happened. It's a simple game; tackle, back-up, pass, hold the ball! What did I say? "Hold the bloody ball!!"

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
So Cummins did change his call from 6 again to last tackle - on the run. Surely you can't do that? We saw the signal, didn't "hear the change" and therefore went in to take the tackle. Off the next set, the roosters scored to take the grand final.
If he had heard the call - he would of passed it out or gone for a second kick in pursuit of a try or repeat set. So basically, a massive Cummins **** up at the end of the day which cost us dearly.

I don't know if I would be getting rid of Sezer after that game - his kicks were perfect to Morris. Maybe have George Williams on the bench, play Simonsson for Rapana. I would not get rid of BJ one year early as well - played better than Latrell but doesn't have the killer instinct.

What’s even most astonishing is how Ben Cummins is still a referee, let alone officiating the biggest game of the season.
He has consistently been absolutely **** for a very long time.

Man we gave that a shake..still headed home. I need to watch it on tv. It seemed like we were the better team after the initial try they scored.
I’m gutted.

George Williams did not come here to play on the bench I don't think that will happen. Sezer was good tonight. Really not a bad player on the park for usHong Kong Raider wrote: ↑October 6, 2019, 9:21 pm I don't know if I would be getting rid of Sezer after that game - his kicks were perfect to Morris. Life goes on, here’s to 2020. We deserved to win tonight but got robbed. Heads high, no one would of given the roosters a run like we did, unfortunately the refs took our dream away. We will be stronger next year.

Sezer was so strong in defence. This lose will make them stronger in 2020. So proud of the boys, as is everyone in Sydney too. Thank you Canberra for a season of happiness rather than frustration. Bring on 2020.
Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
I know we're all a bit emotional right now but seriously there are a few clubs that we hate more than others. But is there anyone worse than the roosters?

Thurston grilling Robinson about his thoughts on the six again call. Robinson got pretty cranky and didn’t want to talk about it. Must take the gloss off a win when you know such a terrible decision played a big part in it.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
So proud of the Raiders. They’ve brought me an incomprehensible amount of joy and pride this year that I’ve never experienced from any past team.
We deserved to be in that grand final and we played like it. We didn’t die wondering.
We didn’t lose because we played like crap, we didn’t lose because the other team was better than us. The only reason the result was what it was is because some bone headed referee decided to take the result into his own hands.
Therefor, we won that game. We’ll just have to wait until next year to get our trophy.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
I know we’ll be better placed next year, so I really hope we don’t muck around with the squad too much in the offseason.
I’ll be comfortable with Sezer and Rapana leaving. No more than that
