I just watched a video of Vidot getting behind the Raiders, from his WWE Training base in Florida. The Raiders web of support spreads far and wide.

Why the Canberra Raiders can win NRL grand final over Sydney Roosters
The Canberra Raiders are rank outsiders in a two-horse race. The Sydney Roosters stand as red-hot favourites to do something no side has done for 26 years.
"But that's just because someone has to be," former Raiders captain Terry Campese said. So can the Green Machine upset the apple cart? "Definitely".

All that Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and his mother have been through made the moment they shared together after the Raiders booked a place in the NRL grand final simply unforgettable.
"I can get a little emotional sharing that moment with those that have been there since day one," Nicoll-Klokstad said.

Canberra Raiders know what they're capable of
The Canberra Raiders know what they're capable of. Have done for a while. It's just taken the rest of the NRL some time to catch up.
"That's probably where it will come down to is who defends better on the day," McFadden said. "We've got a real challenge in front of us. They're very classy.

NRL grand final sends shivers down Canberra Raiders's Joey Leilua's spine
The mere thought sends shivers down Joey Leilua's spine. That is, the mere thought of being millimetres away from having his spine severed, and the fear he would never hold his kids again.
"The first thing I thought was 'I just want to hold my kids', because I couldn't hold them," Leilua said.

Canberra Raiders want grand final to be a catalyst for a new home stadium
Sydney is in the midst of a stadium revolution, now Canberra wants a slice of the action and the Raiders hope their run to a first grand final in 25 years can energise their bid for a state of the art new home base.
“We have been talking to the ACT government about it, I know they want to deliver the city one,” Furner said. “When you look at cities all over Australia, the way it’s all going now is moving venues back into the cities.

The moments, magic and mayhem inspiring Canberra's 25-year wait for glory
For 25 years, Canberra has been green with envy. Twelve different teams from three different states have lifted the trophy in the 9140 days since the Raiders last did.But here they are again.
This one’s for family. It’s for the McIntyres. For the Crokers.
For Jason’s 324 games. For Lachlan’s one. It’s for Jarrod’s 256 and counting.

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Spent some time today looking at the Roosters forum, the chookpen, and it's made me want a win so much more. Absolutely no doubt among them all that they will pump us, and while people on the GH are sharing amazing stories about what supporting the Raiders means to them, they were making disgusting comments about which female commentator they would bang. In the years of reading the greenhouse I have never seen anything like it and I'm sure it would be shut down quickly if it did happen.
I'm Sydney based and have always lived here, in my mid 30s and have been supporting the Raiders from early primary school. I grew up in a household of anger and alcohol and domestic violence, and league was my escape, I spent many a night looking up at the Mal Meninga poster on my wall just wanting nothing more than the Raiders to win. I was old enough to enjoy and remember '94, but over the years my love for the team has grown into an ongoing obsession, and all the suffering that goes with it. I thought I was alone for a long time until I saw some of the stories on here. Regardless of what happens tomorrow I'm so proud of the team and so happy for Ricky and the boys. The amount of good news stories and publicity this week will ensure that there is that next waive of supporters coming through. I'm in bay 111 tomorrow, hope to see a stadium of green, look forward to hugging you all tomorrow

John Bateman set to shine as big moment looms for Aidan Sezer
Big game. Big player. Canberra Raiders sensation John Bateman is set to thrive on the NRL grand final stage.
"I think we can all see that he will. He loves it. He's had a great influence on our group," Raiders assistant coach Andrew McFadden said of Bateman. "He's won plenty of things and that's the character he brings in. He wants to win."

I can see the resemblance but I don’t want to be questioning Nancy’s paternity at this juncture!Begbie wrote:Sure its not Lazzo?Cranky Old Man wrote: ↑October 5, 2019, 1:20 pmpickles wrote: ↑October 4, 2019, 4:06 pm I am absolutely thrilled to bring you the grand final edition of Pickman's Nickman. And for this edition we dig into the back story of the people's favourite, Nancy Nickman.
There has been conjecture that Nancy Nickman was just a random picture from the internet but this is patently incorrect! Nancy was born in Queanbeyan in 1972 where she was known by her maiden name of O'Rourke. Her father Colin O'Rourke was the coach of the Queanbeyan Blues in the early 80's and went on to play a significant role in the establishment of the Canberra Raiders when they entered the competition.
As an impressionable 10 year old Nancy O'Rourke, having grown up around rugby league, became an instant fan of the Canberra Raiders and would certainly be in the running for the first ever raiders fan.
While the formative years of the club were difficult and the club was often labelled as the Faders or the lime splices this had no impact on her love for the team but interestingly, lime splices became Nancy's favourite drink in 1989 when although underage, she snuck into the Queanbeyan Leagues club to watch the inaugural Raiders grand final win and join in the festivities.
After enjoying the success of the Raiders through the early 90's and completing a Bachelor of Economics and Commerce at the ANU Nancy moved to The USA where she completed her masters in international economics at Harvard University. It was during the completion of this degree that she met her husband to be Nicholas Nickman Jr and after a short courtship they were married. It is rumoured that the something old Nancy wore on her wedding day were her Raiders undies that she had also been wearing when the Raiders won the 1989 grand final.
After her wedding she made a career change and completed a PhD in Pharmacy and moved to the University of Utah where she works to this day, still maintaining a passion for the **** MILK!
I never knew Nancy, but I did know her father, Col. He was a real scallywag in the league community around Canberra back in the seventies and coached a few clubs. He originally came up through the Canterbury system such as it was in those days, was a very clever player and tactician and a real character.

Haha yeah I remember playing tackle footy at lunch in primary school around the early - mid 90's and probably once every set of 6 some kid would yell out MULLINS and then try and beat all the other players on the other team single handedly. And usually it was me who yelled it out.

Awesome stuff Ray. Glad to have a fellow tragic joining us all on here. Stick around beyond the GF, this place is pretty good to chat and get insights. It's nothing like the social media platforms, as a general rule people might debate your ideas and perspective but you'll get some decent insights into how others see the game. Currently riding the rails from Newcastle. Can not wait until tomorrow.

I was a "Nagas, down the left flank, in and away, Ohhh shut the gates. Nagas... Nagas! " sort of kid hahaAzza wrote: ↑October 5, 2019, 7:29 pmHaha yeah I remember playing tackle footy at lunch in primary school around the early - mid 90's and probably once every set of 6 some kid would yell out MULLINS and then try and beat all the other players on the other team single handedly. And usually it was me who yelled it out.
