I'm a bit lost

Post by Seiffert82 »

So...it's finals time and we have a weekend off...and we're still in the running...

It's quite an odd feeling. That is all.

I know your feeling. I am wondering what I will do with my weekend. I think there is some skating on. And I could clean my apartment.
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

I'm a bit the same... Canberra Raiders Cup is over... Mounties' season is over... only game on the weekend is Jersey Flegg... I'm generally writing something every day for the site, and I've had all this spare time!

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

This isn’t the week to be lost, this is the week to bask in the glory of what he raiders have achieved this season and relish the fact that the storm have to back up against parra this weekend!

Here’s a few options.

1. Rewatch every raiders victory from the season.

2. Rewatch last weeks game again because it was too good to only watch 7 times.

3. Start a thread about something philosophical (tick)

4. Troll storm supporters on social media with pictures from the game like the touch judge, whitehead tackling someone without the ball or if you’re really nice, just pictures of Bateman scoring under the posts.

5. Troll storm supporters with memes, gifs and videos of Zelda singing ‘let it go’

I’m sure there a lot more but that’s just off the top of my head!

I can’t stop thinking raiders.

I can’t stop fantasising about winning Friday week, being involved in a full Grand Final week, being in a sea of green at Olympic Park on gf day and winning the comp.

Where do I get my membership?
I’m literally just thinking about all my spare time this weekend.

Just imagine....we could be the first team into the 2019 GF.

Yeah with you there. Every time I think of next week I get so nervous.

We know what follows is probably the most exciting week any of us had in rugby league or devastation as we think if only.

The Domestic 50 Over cricket starts Saturday and is on Fox - but I ususally don’t like to start watching domestic cricket until the footy is donezo.

Get another hobby. Spring and Summer are great times to spend in the garden and also getting reacquainted with the family.

I’m the same all I ever wanted to experience is a GF week and I’m of little faith cause this is all set up for a massive let down.

Seiffert, i'm in the exact same boat. I am really excited to watch the 2 games this weekend and it will be great just to kick back knowing our bumps and bruises are all healing while watching teams belt the living hell out of each other (without wishing injuries on anyone, that's not my thing). I'm pumped for the games this weekend even with no Raiders involved.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

I'll be watching Eels vs Bunnies this week hoping for a EDIT and an all in brawl that sees at least 8 players from each team charged with 1 week offense.

I enjoy how finals time the football ramps up a gear, the intensity lifts and Fergus does the same with his moderation.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

This.

It is hard not to expect a GF with a home semi and the week off. but so very very wary of a letdown....

Haha, all I said was corkies and hammy twinges and it got edited. So I will NOT wish any corkies or hammy twinges on any players. Instead I will simply say I hope the team we play is a little battle weary and fatigued from playing the previous week. :D

Have you tried looking at a map?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.
