Josh Papalii wins the 2019 Meninga Medal

Post by greeneyed »

Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papalii a chance to go back-to-back in Mal Meninga Medal

Could Josh Papalii go back-to-back to win his third Mal Meninga Medal? The barnstorming way the Canberra Raiders big bopper has finished the season gives him every chance to.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and John Bateman have both been revelations in their first year with the Green Machine, while Jack Wighton's shift to five-eighth has played a big part in the Raiders season.

What's your tip for the winner of the Meninga Medal? Rookie of the Year? Coaches' Award? Clubman of the Year?

We will have all the results here as the awards night unfolds.

I think Bateman is going to win the Meninga Medal. But either Papa or CNK could win it and i wouldnt bat an eyelid

CNK has clubman of the year locked up imo. Hors for rookie of the year, and i reckon either Papa or Bateman, which ever doesnt win the Meninga Medal will take the coaches award home... Whitey is a REALLY good Coaches Award smokey

Bateman for Meninga Medal.
Papalii for Coaches Award.
Horsburgh for Rookie.
CNK for Clubman.

Or they might swap any of Bateman, Papalii or CNK - they would all be worthy winners.

The thing that could cost Bateman is that Papalii and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad had 23 appearances, while Bateman had 20.

It's Meninga Medal Tuesday!
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.
