Re: 2019 Preliminary Final V Rabbitohs: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Rabbitohs are in the top 4 based a lot on their first half of the season. The media will bang on about Cook and Walker and their however many trys/assists this season, but any SuperCoach will tell you that is skewed by pre-origin figures. Their second half of the year hasn't been great.
We should win, and win easily.
And that worries me...

Cook has been average post origin
That said he'll probably go all origin 3 on us now

I can't make the game because of work. I stupidly said yes to watching it with a very nice mate who's a rabbits supporter. He's yet to see this side of me.

First post here - had a dream last night that I'd missed the game somehow, opened the League Live iPhone app and in the cool light of Saturday morning in my living room, saw a score of Canberra 18 South Sydney 4. Here's to a dream coming true!

My confidence in winning this match has been fluctuating like our premiership hopes in the last couple of decades.. if we do win i think id rather roosters ( hoping they are bashed up) coz i dnt think the storm will be losing 2gfs in that time

This game is going to be super tight. I'm tipping if we lose it'll be reminiscent of that Manly home game. If we win it'll be a tight win akin to Melbourne.

This game is a mental clash of the titans inside my head.
On one hand we are fresh, hungry, at home, huge crowd against a side who looked very beatable last weekend. I.e objectively we are and should be the favourites and expecting to win.
On the other hand I am conditioned for failure, so despite the above mentioned reasons why we will win, I am also expecting to lose.
Very turbulent week indeed.

Fireworks stand between Canberra Raiders centre Joey Leilua and a shot at NRL finals glory
Everyone keeps asking Joey Leilua about that damned eye.
"I'm definitely not running through fireworks [on Friday night], I know that. If I see them, I am walking the other way. I am not running through that tunnel if I see fireworks ... or at least I will close my eyes," Leilua said.

NRL: Canberra Raiders' Jack Wighton backs Sydney Roosters' Latrell Mitchell slamming racism
Canberra Raiders five-eighth Jack Wighton has vowed to join the fight against racism by calling out arrogant and disrespectful slurs.
"It's really unacceptable in today's modern age and today's game. The more it gets called out, the less it'll happen."

Jack of all trades has much to offer Mal's Kangaroos
Jack Wighton's versatility has already seen him shine at centre for NSW and take Canberra to a preliminary final playing five-eighth and he'll be hoping it gives him an edge in the race for spots in Mal Meninga's Test side.
"That's what it's all about, it's something to chase but as I have said before, it's about focusing week to week and then if he thinks I'm ready for the task I'm sure he will take me on board," Wighton said.

Siliva Havili backs Israel Folau's return for Tongan rugby league team
Israel Folau's potential return to rugby league would be a huge boost for "a little nation" amid a spiteful standoff between Tongan players and power brokers.
"Hundred per cent. I would love to see him play. It's good for the international game and it's good for our little nation," Havili said.

Whitehead hits 100 games in green
He’s hardly missed a minute of football since joining the Canberra Raiders and now Elliott Whitehead will play his 100th club game when he takes to the field against South Sydney on Friday night.
“It’s a great personal achievement for myself but this week is all about the team and taking one step closer towards our goal,” Whitehead said.

Haka behind bars: The rise of Canberra Raiders' diamond in the rough Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad will never forget the look on his mum's face. Nicoll-Klokstad hung on to it for the next two years as Christmases, birthdays, trials and triumphs passed by with him in Melbourne. And Mum in prison.
"I remember we did a haka for her," Nicoll-Klokstad remembers of that painful afternoon in early December, 2010.

The landmarks turning green in support of the Canberra Raiders... but there’ll be no green tram
It isn't just Raiders fans who are getting decked out in green ahead of the side's big clash against South Sydney in the preliminary final on Friday. So are the city landmarks. But there will be no green tram.

Am hearing it is relative form. I wonder if Sutton is affected by injury still, however.

Re: 2019 Preliminary Final V Rabbitohs: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
A few weeks ago before the Melbourne game I wasn't nervous at all, I felt confident.
I'm exactly the same this week, in fact i'm more confident than I was a few weeks ago.
This isn't my first rodeo, being a Raiders diehard for as long as I can remember, I'm acutely aware that I may be setting myself up for heartbreak again.
I just believe based on what I've seen this year, and the shape our team (and squad) is in, and the close bond and energy of the team, that we're winning this game. If we get through this match as I think we will, that confidence will change next week but not my belief we can win it. I've been in that camp for most the year, this is the best team we've had in a long time and i'm prepared to spend my energy believing in them than worrying. Bring on tomorrow, excitement is building now.

I'm not nervous either, I think we win this game, and I think we do it in style. I'm still not sure about the grand final, but I'm pretty confident for tomorrow night, provided the team shows up with their heads screwed on.Woodgers wrote: ↑September 26, 2019, 10:43 am A few weeks ago before the Melbourne game I wasn't nervous at all, I felt confident.
