We obviously can't take them lightly and hopefully the memory of the Sharks final in 2016 keeps our guys on their toes. But, if we are on and focussed, we will be a great chance.

I hope the players aren't as sure of a win as some of the fans are. No doubt we should be favourites but we have to prepare for a much improved South Sydney and a very tough game.

Absolutely. If we don't, we'll get done. They are a good side. I think we are better - if we are on.

Souths:

1. Fullback too inexperienced, although had a good game
2. BJ needs to target Gagai
3. You can count on one handling error from Liam Knight and from one of the Burgess brothers
4. George Burgess is unfit
5. Wighton and Papa need to run at Walker and especially Reynolds
6. We have historically beaten them in finals - I recall 1987 Steve Mavin had a horror and got pulled off before half time, 1989 when they were minor premiers.
7. Sam Burgess is a dumb idiot and can be bated for penalties
8. I would love to see a frown on Bennett at the end of the match.

Yeah, let's not get too cocky, though admittedly it's hard after that garbage. Hopefully Sticky keeps the boys level this week.

One thing missing Hong Kong Raider - get Horse up in Burgess' face, he'll lose his **** and hopefully get himself binned for repeated penalties.
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

No doubt they are a good side, full of experienced internationals and State of Origin players. And fast little players like Cook, Murray and Walker. We need to be at our best. It will be a tight game so hope Croker's kicking boots are on. In fact I would let Sezer kick.

If cody walker plays, all raiders need to do is stir him up, he is such a sook. Souths crumbled tonight and crumbled against roosters, if the Raiders dont dominate them they can destroy. Please mighty Raiders dont take this game lightly.

Yeah, some people here think we will walk over them - no way. That type of attitude was what many had here in 2016 vs the Sharks in the finals, and we got done.

We lost to them earlier this year when Bateman, Sezer and BJ weren't playing. But we won't take them lightly.

I like how they don't offload much for second phase play (I think the second last in terms of offloads) but they play structured like all Bennett coached sides. That's much easier to defend. We need to watch the marker defence and up the middle.

Importantly, the only reason we lost is because a Souths player managed to pull the ball out of Croker's hands when he was a certainty to score...and then the ref screwed up the call and said Croker knocked it on.

No mate - he just said Souths would fancy their chances and Canberra are not an unbeatable side.

Of course Souths would think that

No team is unbeatable - look at what we did to Melbourne in Melbourne x 2

Big favourites at the bookies already (TAB)

1.47 Canberra vs Souths 2.70

Ironically, unbiased opinion, we should easily have this. But supporting and knowing the team, we have some mental preparation to do.

Still confident though - bring it home boys!! :cmon

No , he just said we aren't invincible, and he's right.

In 2016 no one gave the Sharks much of a chance to come to Canberra and beat us, and we got our pants pulled down. It'll be the same this time with us being firm favourites, so we have to be extremely careful. On the positive side, there are a number of players in this side who were there in 2016 and will hopefully have learned from it.

We were heavy favourites at home in 2016 AND 2010. Despite injuries, both games we were certainly not at 100% attitude wise, and expected the big crowd to get us home. The guys MUST start fast with their defence and bring the crowd and atmosphere into play.

I’m glad we are playing on Friday night.

Would hate to be playing against Souths if Roosters beat storm.

The. We’d be playing against 15 on the field for 80 mins!

So next week I hope Gaigai plays in the centres - we should target him where ever he plays, a man in shocking form with little confidence.

Raiders to host the Rabbitohs after Manly bows out

The Canberra Raiders are going Rabbit hunting on the biggest stage the ACT's ever seen.

They'll play the South Sydney Rabbitohs in a preliminary final at Canberra Stadium next Friday for a spot in the grand final.

If we are not alert with our guards up, we will be sucker punched.

Souths have put 2 ordinary performances together now, so they are well aware of their problems.

We need to use controlled aggression and target their edges.

I hope the boys are ready.

Nervous week for us fans!

This time next week we could be the first team into the 2019 GF.
Let that sink in.
