And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever
I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

9 hour drive from Sydney for that one.
Well worth it!!!!
Lucky to be in Melbourne for both wins against Cam this year.
Also had the pleasure of seeing Gal off in losing fashion.
GREAT YEAR SO FAR!!!!

Interesting, have a still shot?
It looked like he wasnt out but the angle may have been misleading.

It was absolutely brilliant. He summed it up perfectly and so did Bateman. He offered up a secondary option knowing the storm were scrambling and overcompensated, Beej played it perfectly and Bateman going against the grain like wasn’t going to be stopped even if someone was there

Re: 2019 Finals Week 1 V Storm: Game Day
Just read this on News.com - I'm wondering who amateur hour has really struck?:
Amateur hour hits NRL finals
Controversy reigned from the get go at AAMI Park as the Storm held on for a 10-6 semi-final victory over a spirited Canberra Raiders side.
While the Storm did well to come back for the win after being dominated in the opening half the way things panned out will have left a salty taste in the mouth of many Canberra fans and likely the Raiders themselves.
In extraordinary scenes before the match even started Canberra star Joey Leilua was unable to begin the match due an injury sustained while the team were running onto the field.
Call it Melbourne's latest dirty trick if you will but the Raiders star was substituted before kickoff due to getting scalded in the eye by fireworks.
"A firework has gone off near his eye," revealed Nine commentator Phil Gould.
Leilua was in all sorts and replays showed that fireworks were not just shooting off the arch but dripping and one got the Canberra centre right in the eye.
"The left eye is closed, he is in extreme discomfort – apparently a spark from the firework went in his eye when he ran out," Billy Slater added.
It's just the latest debacle for the NRL that they did not need.

In a nut shell. Who else would've tried that? Any other player would've gone to the outside and risked us being bundled over touch.radicalraider wrote: ↑September 14, 2019, 8:41 pm Leilua with the flick pass to win it. If that play doesnt sum him up..
To those who constantly doubt him, THAT is exactly what he brings - putting us through to a home preliminary **** final.

Haha. Published that one too early
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Leilua has had a strange season - how random was the firecracker incident?

Rapa had his hand between Munsters legs and lifted him beyond the horizontal but the other raider players made sure he had a soft landing. I don't know that he will get more than a fine due to the outcome of the tackle.
I've only seen the Tapine 'chicken wing' while watching the game on TV. I thought another raider player came in actually cause the damage. Tapine is a regular at the Judiciary though, so anything may happen.

It’s the sort of season where you can see him scoring the match winner in a GF.

It felt like an hour passed between Bateman putting it down and getting the green light. What a great night!

I have no voice. What a great night. Love the way raiders fans band together at away games. Makes it such an enjoyable experience! 20000 pretty poor crowd from Melbourne. Raiders fans were looouudd
Re: 2019 Finals Week 1 V Storm: Game Day
The first 20-25 minutes of that game was what made it for us. We played it brilliantly - bolted out of the gates and rattled them, throwing them off course.
Because they're such a heavily coached team with less dependence on game breaking ability, that's usually enough to be able to open up the potential for a win in finals (easier said than done, of course).
