I got the jitters.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

My strategy for today is to pretend this isn’t happening. My wife is out for the day, so the kids and I are doing swimming lessons, taking the bikes for a ride around the lake, having a bbq lunch and making this an awesome day.

Before I turn into an absolute dribbling mess about 5pm.

I'm so nervous. Have a nice distraction with birthday celebrations prior to the game but I'll be a wound up wreck by kick-off.

Heading up to the Raiders Gungahlin to watch (to both spare my neighbours and at least be able to share the nerves around instead of just sitting on my couch rocking back and forth), anyone else?
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

I feel we dodged a bullet after watching the Rabbitohs capitulate last night!
We will be ready to beat the Roosters when the time comes!

I really like our chances in this game. Win this game and it is really set up for us. Not having to play the Roosters at the SCG would be massive.

Can it just be 5:40 already!

I know this has been said ad nauseum this week, but we have to start so well in this game. A repeat of last time we played and we’ll be done by halftime.

The Storm are very, very hard to run down from a halftime lead, but to do it twice in a row and in such a big game is nigh on impossible.

agree wholeheartedly. I think because of their inexperience (strange saying that about them) in key positions it would be possible to rattle them if we get out to a 10 point lead. At worst need to be within 6 at half time.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I'm not nervous, just excited. This is what it is all about.

I'm suspiciously confident as well. I think Leilua is going to a have a game and a half.

I rewatched the 2016 final, boy that was a cracker.

Hope Leilua and Rapana can play like that again. They were unstoppable.

Tapine was his standard hot headed self. He needs to control that **** tonight.

Yeah that'd sum up the season actually. Pretty much every big away game we've won and pretty much every big home game we've lost.

Cheers! <cracked open a can 5 mins ago>

My take on today is as long as we stay in the game first half (halves make good decisions and kick well) we can come home with a wet sail in the 2nd.

Would like to see some better 5th tackle options today as well. I feel like the backs haven't got as much ball as they used to and we've lost some attack power because of it.

Indeed Hazza, interesting to see Manly written off so hard. Even without Turbo I reckon that’s not settled.

Manly decimated, no one giving them a hope. Hasler would be loving it, right up his alley. On paper they're no hope but she isn't played on paper. Sharks dreadful record at Brooky too. And these are the sort of games the Sharks have been losing all year.
