I can’t put B White in the team. Vaughan definitely ahead, I even thought fellow Storm player Lima performed better than White for his period with the Raiders.
??

Jeff Lima played 9 games for us.

TLL probably deserves consideration for a bench spot. He played for NSW and Australia this decade and was still a good player until 2012.

People didnt like the White signing and never really got past it. He wouldnt be in my all decade team but he was a good solid signing.
The List - K.Love, Keno, Zippy's tennis angels, LA Lakers, Noah, Boozer, Lucy's horse tips, Colts, Lucy, Kevin Proctor, Dr Zaius, TR, Tinfoil hatted Gangers and Woody, anyone in Raiders HQ who can point to QBN on a map....

I also don’t think Campese makes the team. He was pretty much cooked after his original acl injury and those 4 or so years after were just a really depressing time for the club as a supporter.

1. Jack Wighton
2. Nick Cotric
3. Jarrod Croker
4. Joey Leilua
5. Jordan Rapana
6. Blake Austin
7. Aidan Sezer
8. David Shillington
9. Josh Hodgson
10. Paul Vaughan
11. Josh Papalii
12. Elliott Whitehead
13. Shaun Fensom

14. Sia Soliola
15. Blake Ferguson
16. Joe Tapine
17. Shannon Boyd
18. Josh McCrone
This is more like it IMO

Maybe Ferguson in for Cotric

A few good teams listed here.
Anyone surprised that fullback, half and the last benchie are the main sticking points?!?!? Coz that feels like this decade for me.

I wasn’t actually serious, but Lima did play pretty well in the majority of those 9 games.

But I couldn’t have White in our team of the decade. He performed worse than plenty of other props we have had in the period. He played worse than bargain buys like Lui, Horsburgh, etc.

White’s off the field abilities and work ethic have been good for the club from day one, but he’s not even close to a team of the decade when I couldn’t put him ahead of others who’ve played prop over the period. Papalli, Vaughan, Soliola, Paulo, even Boyd.

I'm not sure what it says to our recruitment if our candidates for halfback in team of the decade are Sezer and McCrone :doubt:

Was LL in his prime in this decade or the last? I was expecting him to continue to be one of the best..

His best seasons were 09 and 10. Played Origin and ran 2nd and 4th in POTY on here. After that he slowed down but wasn't really terrible.

Good grief, Sean! Your team STINKS, and I think our current team would probably absolutely towel them up

I think, if anything, it shows how poor this decade has been for the club, easily the worst ten year period since a nine year old Rickman first donned the green
The 2000 - 2009 team would give it a run.

I was struggling for names, esp in the backrow. We havent had too many outright stinking plodders, even if we have had a few below average players.

2000-2009 wins because of its spine. 3 elite players Vs 1. I'd have Furner at second row and Toots at lock though. Toots was our best player and lock of the year playing there in 2000.

When did Howell play?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Yeah it was off the top of my head - your backrow is definitely better.

Daley did still have plenty in the tank in 2000 so the spine is superior. Forward pack would be on the day, 2010s win the outside backs.

The only ones who can be in the worst team are those who didn’t give their all. You could probably include Dugan in that even though he won a Meninga Medal. He certainly gave his all some days but just stuck his finger up at the club too.

I reckon Craig Frawley, Stuart Flanagan and Damon Alley-Tovio would struggle to look in the mirror and say they gave it all for the club despite being on big money.

Whereas someone like Brett Kelly who has been to three clubs before us for one NRL game played 20 games and scored 8 tries for us and got every last bit of talent out of himself.

Agree with this. Most of these guys bust themselves and sacrifice a lot more than people realise for the chance to pull on a green jumper. I think it's hugely disrespectful to bag some of these guys just because they weren't able to excel at the top level.

Bronson Harrison after he got a big contract is the only other that comes to mind. Went from one of the best players in the comp (in 09 I think?) to absolutely phoning it in.

For mine the best team would have Wighton at 6 and Milf at FB.

I think “worst of” teams are crap. All of those blokes worked hard to earn a green jersey. I reckon we should have a bit of respect for them.
Hear hear, couldn't agree more, old mate

I don’t like lists like that either.

Weird one though after reading Matt’s list I had to look James Stuart up. Don’t remember him at all, doesn’t happen often with ex raiders who’ve played first grade.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Jimmy Stuart was at the Forever Green reunion the other week. Recognised the face but couldn’t put a name to it.

He was a local junior, came up through the ranks and played a handful of games. From memory they were on the wing but he was more of a Centre. Would have only had one season where he played first grade.

I am sure he went to Qld Cup after that.

But this just proves my point. Like every kid playing junior rugby league he dreamed of playing NRL and probably for his local club.

He did that.

Did he make a fortune out of the game or become an Immortal? Not even close but for a moment he played in the best rugby league competition in the world where people paid money to come and watch him play.

No it is not because I would argue some of those players Overachieved to play one NRL game.
