Oi.
I'm not dropping him, I'm saying all bench positions are important these days and he can provide impact off it, simmo was going well and I thought cotric would add 15% to our other bench options.
With cover from fullback wing centre and back row or a papanhouzen roll, it's a luxury to have this squad and squeeze it all out on game day.

Let's make a bet.

If we lose a game this year, you have to change your username for the duration of the off season (to be chosen by azza and myself, pending admin approval).

Likewise, if we go through undefeated you get to choose my username for the off season (pending admin approval)

For those on Croker Milestone Watch (2000 points):

14 points per game to reach it by the end of the regular season (possible but not probable - the Warriors game might tip the balance here)

11 points per game if we get knocked out in week 1 of the finals

9 points per game if we get knocked out in week 2 of the finals (or Prelim if we win week 1)

7 points per game if we get knocked out in the Prelim and play both week 1 and week 2 finals

7 points per game if we make the Grand Final, and play only week 1 and Prelim finals

6 points per game if we make the Grand Final, and play both week 1 and week 2 finals

tl;dr it's actually extremely possible for Croker to break 2000 this season.

Surely Rapa doesn't miss a game with a burst blood vessel, fair dinkum. If he does I'll be sitting on my recliner with a beer and a packet of twisties questioning his toughness.

Manly are a good side, playing well with a couple of out and out superstars. But I think we have a stronger bench. Hopefully that's what proves the difference. Play our best we'll win, anything less they're good enough to roll us.

If we stay out of Manley’s niggling tactics, we win.

But we have a way of letting grubs like Walker under our skin, and not just the usual suspects like Rapa and Tarps, but it gets Hodgo as well.

Hopefully Bateman being on that edge now takes him on so hard he doesn’t have a chance to annoy anyone else!

CNK will also need to be on song because of DCE kicking game. We just need to shut down their forwards from getting a roll on.

Yeah, Kapow was dangerous with the offloads because so much effort went into stopping his momentum on hit ups it was harder to secure the ball. This year he hasn't been the same metre eater and might be thinking about offloads too much. He's turning a lot earlier in the tackle and as such his post contact metres aren't as high. Means defenders should target the ball earlier in the tackle.

I worry about our jamming defence this game
The reason you jam is, as ive said a number of times, to cut down the halves time and options and allow him really only to throw a very difficult pass, or drop in a very difficult kick, eat the football or turn it back infield to the defence... DCE is one of the few halves who is going to be able to make that very difficult pass or kick and do it regularly

Canberra Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh hitting the right notes

Ryan Sutton struggles to find a better way to sum up rising Canberra Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh than simply calling him a "redhead".

"He has come on in leaps and bounds. He's a redhead, and I didn't mean that... I mean he is genuinely a redhead," Sutton said. "It's good he is controlling his aggression and it showed on the weekend. He was outstanding, he was the second-highest metre maker on the team.

Canberra Raiders ready to crank up finals-like intensity again

Canberra is bracing for another finals-like encounter against Manly on Sunday as they aim to secure a top-four finish.

"These are the games that you want to play in to prepare yourself for the finals. It's going to be a real tough game because Manly are really in contention for the top four and we're not safe, so we've just got to take this game as another semi-final game," Ryan Sutton said.

Manly always seem to have a way of promoting the ball even if we try wrap up the ball. If we stop their second phase play, it will go a LONG way to stopping them this weekend.

He must get tired of playing them.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.

Hudson Young and Nick Cotric raring to go for Canberra Raiders' NRL clash with Manly Sea Eagles

Rookie forward Hudson Young has a chance to redeem himself in the Canberra Raiders' finals push as he prepares to end an 11-week stint out of the NRL.

"I'm reunited with my buddy, it's good, I haven't been out there for a couple of weeks," Nick Cotric said. "Toots is such a good talker on the field, it's good. I'm slotting in comfortably back in that spot with him."

'We're contenders and we're coming': Canberra Raiders sound wake-up call to NRL heavyweights

"We're contenders and we're coming." That's the message from Canberra after the Raiders beat a top-four NRL side for the first time this season, toppling competition leaders Melbourne last week.

"To win that game last week, hopefully we proved to everyone we're real contenders and we're coming," Dunamis Lui said.
