Yes..

Grade 3 ear gouge.

With an early guilty plea Smith will avoid suspension, get another testimonial game, will be excluded from Melbournes dodgy salary cap and his wife will be given her choice of a brand new car....

NRL.com power rankings

2. Canberra Raiders (3)
Not far off making it to No.1. It would've hurt to lose at home to the Roosters last week and then they found themselves in an 18-0 hole on Melbourne's home turf. It was a fantastic effort to get out of a seemingly impossible situation and it was the kind of win that will really galvanise the group. They solidified their premiership credentials with an amazing comeback when it would've been easy to shut up shop and concentrate on finishing in the top four.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Nothing to see ear! Shocking vision exposes Cameron Smith’s dirty tricks against Canberra Raiders

Cameron Smith has been caught by Fox Sports cameras pulling the ears of Raiders winger Bailey Simonsson during Saturday night’s match. The shock vision has emerged after Smith was penalised for ‘rubbish in the face’ by referee Ben Cummins with 10 minutes remaining in the second half.

'Rubbish on the face' puts Cameron Smith in firing line after ear pull on Canberra Raiders rookie Bailey Simonsson

Cameron Smith is in the firing line and fuming Canberra Raiders fans are lining up to take a shot following his latest controversial brush with the Green Machine. It is not the first time Smith has drawn the ire of Raiders fans after he dug a knee into the back of Croker's injured knee during the 2016 preliminary final.

bonehead wrote: August 19, 2019, 7:55 am For the record I thought we got a bit lucky, The Storm took their foot off the gas, 1 of their tries and 2 of ours were 50/50 at best. If Croker and Rapana's tries were against us I'd be fuming, Hughes knocked the ball out of Croker's hold and rapana put the ball on the touchline if you look at the angle of the put down the first point is at the base of the corner post.
BUT I absolutely loved how hard we played in that 2nd half, our bench held it's own and allowed Papalii to absolutely beast that last 12 to 15 minutes.
Enormous 2pts so long as we can put up 2 of our last 3 as wins.
And if the Rapana try was disallowed I'd be fuming. Was a clear try. Was nothing remotely lucky about we did, we thoroughly outplayed them in the 2nd half. It's ok to admit it. We're really **** good and can win this thing. People almost seem reluctant to say it.

I've loathed Ben Cummins as a referee for a very long time. Actually ever since he penalised Braith Anasta for being punched in the face, twice, in the same game (as humorous as Braith getting hit may be).

But he showed a spine in dealing with the mutt on Saturday night. Deserves credit for that. Others would/have let that crap slide.

Re-watching the clip of the Tapine sin binning its hard to see how it could have gone any other way. It is possible the first jab was with an open hand but there isn't anything that proves that conclusively unless someone has another angle or still that shows it. He's an idiot for putting himself in the situation where that could happen at all. Looks like he will miss a few weeks with his ribs anyway so hopefully that gives him some time to think about how stupid he was and never do it again.
