I’ll guarantee you whether it is the storm or any other team we meet in finals footy they will be wound up, motivated and focused. From here on in we will be playing motivated teams (possibly with the exception of Warriors) and I believe we can match and beat them. What better way to boost your own self belief and send shivers through the comp than doing a job on the Storm in Melbourne. Ricky will have them pumped for this - we got this..... I’m excited!raiderskater wrote: ↑August 17, 2019, 9:15 amYeah, I gotta say I'm not over-thrilled with everyone winding the Storm up right before we play them...Goldcoast Raider wrote: ↑August 17, 2019, 9:03 amHate to be the downer but with all this bad press the storm are coping this week I’ve got a bad feeling we are walking into a massacre, hope I’m completely wrong but these storm bastards thrive on this ****Billy Walker wrote: ↑August 17, 2019, 8:20 amI’m with you Julian - in fact I’ll go a step further - I have a feeling we will this reasonably convincingly. I'm very nervous about this one for a number of reasons, but I still believe we can win!

I really think you should make arrangements to meet a friend at half time and nominate the halftime score you would be comfortable with again. That worked beautifully against the Warriors- the lads obliged and got to 30-0 like you wanted and you still got to watch the second half replay. I bet you watched the full game against the roosters last week didn’t you.....raiderskater wrote: ↑August 17, 2019, 9:16 amFinally, others who understand my chief concern about this game.dubby wrote: ↑August 15, 2019, 2:38 pm My thoughts exactly. I am always a little regretful that at the Dally Ms, after Croker had hobbled up into the stage to collect his first award of the night, when they asked him "how's the knee?" he didn't answer "It's okay, no thanks to you, Cameron."BadnMean wrote: ↑August 17, 2019, 9:33 amI'll never forget or forgive his attack- several seconds after the whistle btw- against Croker's knee. I am having guests for dinner tonight, who should be arriving around 30 minutes into the game. However, we may keep watching.
Nevertheless, if we must turn off, I nominate 30 points as my comfort zone once again.

Re: 2019 Rd 22 V Storm: Game Day
Bring on the Storm.
I have absolutely no feeling for the result of this game. If we chance our arm with the ball and shift their middle third defence around we're a chance.
If we turn the ball over easily in poor field position they'll eat us up.
Nobody ever beats Melbourne in the grind, even with additional scrutiny from the refs. No time like the present to go for it. We have nothing to lose.

Re: 2019 Rd 22 V Storm: Game Day
I think they are heavy favourites, but we can give ourselves a good chance if we start well and play reasonably expansive. They are missing Smith and Welch from their bench, which gives us a very slight edge with our bench forwards.
As others have mentioned, spinning the ball wide to attack them on the edges is the way to go, even though it is riskier. We can try and play risk-free up the middle, but the chances of that working are minimal. I think we might get some joy targeting Olam and Vunivalu with our left edge (even though last time we met them, they tore us to shreds down that side).

Try not to worry mate..
See how I greet you with something nice ?
Not..pompous derelict, turnip head or other degrading stuff.
Anyway..I believe we will win every week. Even when the odds are squarely against us. Even when the wind is blowing from the wrong direction and the refs are drunk..

Every man and his dog are tipping us for the upset.
Means it won't be an upset if we win I guess.
I think we can win, but believe Melbourne will. It only matters in the finals though, ala 2016.
I'd be reasonably happy with a loss, as long as it's close like the Roosters game. Our big game for a top 4 spot is next week vs Manly.

Fox League broadcasts one every Saturday, Nine/GEM on Sunday. Mounties have been on two weeks in a row, but have largely been shunned by the broadcasters.simo wrote: ↑August 17, 2019, 1:20 pmWasnt joking. Havent seen one nsw cup game this year and had assumed theyd stopped broadcasting it
Re: 2019 Rd 22 V Storm: Game Day
Go the boys today. A win is a real bonus. I agree that next week more important. Also agree bringing BJ back a risk (Raps has not looked free in movement either on that side) - but a risk worth taking given we want combos right for the semis. We just want a really solid performance and no injuries.
I expect it to be a low scoring game, unless the refs penalise incessantly. Both teams will slow it right down.

Wish we'd see Sutton start ahead of either Soliola or Tapine. Nothing against the form of the latter two, as they have been solid the past month, it's just Sutton clearly has form on the board when he is in the starting 13.
