Smart selection Sticky. Bring back one long term injured player into the squad at a time. Sutton gets the nod first. Our three quarter line looks strong.

Cooper Cronk says Canberra Raiders brand of football is "spiritual"
Sydney Roosters playmaker Cooper Cronk describes Canberra's brand of football as "spiritual" under Ricky Stuart this NRL season and has praised them for reviving the green machine of old.
"They've been super consistent all year, not dropped too many games consecutively, they've played a pretty spiritual game of football in terms of team unity, going after every game they play," Cronk said.

I'm nervous already. It's going to be a tough week.
I love Oldy but geez I'm glad that Cotric is back this week. His battle with Latrell will be the dongiest of ding-dongs.

Second best day of the week!
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Wouldn't be surprised. We tried it earlier in the year and he's in even better form now. With Hodgo playing 80 every week we can afford to have a utility that isn't a hooker if we choose.Raiders_Pat wrote: ↑August 6, 2019, 10:13 pmHodgson's comments on Simonsson are interesting... Had a dream this game was played in pouring rain. The roosters kicked out on the full to start the game.
They muscled up in defense though, and beat us 12 nil

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

My dream was totally reverse of that..it was stinking hot. So hot both teams didn't wear jerseys, just body paint. We kicked off..short. It was tapped back into Papaliis soft hands and he ran 45 metres to score the opening try. We won 13-0. Jarrod Croker kicked a field goal..dubby wrote: ↑August 7, 2019, 6:09 am Had a dream this game was played in pouring rain. The roosters kicked out on the full to start the game.

Both teams coming off big wins. I think Raiders had much tougher opposition, even though Warriors were below par. Titans were just horrible. Bottom line I believe we earned that win more than Roosters did. Hoping we can take advantage and ambush them on Sunday.

Buy of the year: NRL.com experts' view on 2019 best recruit
The Green Machine have the two best buys of the year - it's impossible to split Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and John Bateman. The rugged Englishman's relentless competitiveness and the young Kiwi's earnest professionalism have transformed the Green Machine from talented but fragile also-rans to serious premiership contenders.

Canberra Raiders back Nick Cotric returns at perfect time for the Green Machine's tough NRL test
Nick Cotric is bracing for the toughest test of his NRL career as he looks to bury the demons of suspension and injury in a top four battle.
"It's definitely good having people coming back from injuries instead of being injured at this time of year," Jack Wighton said. "It's an important time of year, they're two class players [Cotric and Leilua] so it'll be good to have them back in the team.

'Rare air': Stats show the is the Canberra Raiders best season in 16 years
The Raiders are tasting rare air this year, spending more time in the NRL's top four than they have in the past 16 years as they set their sights on a drought-breaking title.
"A lot of people didn't think we would be where we are at the moment, but we believed we would be up there," Elliott Whitehead said. "It is going to be a challenging month, but we've got the Roosters this week and that's the only thing we can focus on.

Was just prompted by a comment on The GH Facebook group to have a look at what tickets are available for Sunday... Meninga Stand, not much left, more in the East Stand, but anything under cover is pretty popular.
"Premium Grandstand" and "Gold Inner Bowl" sold out.
This is starting to feel a whole lot like 2016!

I think we can get some joy and quick play the balls attacking the Roosters down the middle and targeting Verrils, then shift to the right and throw some different shapes at Mitchell. He is still (like most young centres) dodgy with his decision making, Bateman and Cotric with CNK out the back should present him some issues.

It's not uncommon for fans to display overt acts of loyalty and passionate prejudice, especially if you support a team as good and dominant as the roosters.
