Re: 2019 Rd 20 V Warriors: Teams and Previews
The only thing I'm worried about is a mental letdown after the big win against the Panthers and the short turn around.
If we are switched on then we will be ok.

Come on mate - I'm exceptionally proud of the team today but my concerns with the short turn-around are legitimate.

I'd say we probably won't train and just have the captain's run this weekAzza wrote:Come on mate - I'm exceptionally proud of the team today but my concerns with the short turn-around are legitimate.
It'll be a very light week

Few square ups on the way for the Warriors. Don't like our chances in this one

I think we can do it. We just need to be really smart about our preparation.

We'll win because we're the better team.
The short turn around is legitimate and something to consider, but we're good enough to overcome it.

Re: 2019 Rd 20 V Warriors: Teams and Previews
I think we attack them around the ruck like we did Parra early in the year. Isaac Luke does a lot of cleaning up in the middle and will be missed. Our kicking game needs to be better. Edwards had too much time and space today and if we do the same next week RTS will tear us a new one. The majority of our kicks need to find the sideline (preferably not on the full Jack).

So long as the refs haven’t been instructed to fix up the eels result we should be fine.
We are playing as tough as I can ever remember.

Re: 2019 Rd 20 V Warriors: Teams and Previews
I reckon bring in Hudson Young just because he's fresh and give one of the forwards a rest for next week.
Re: 2019 Rd 20 V Warriors: Teams and Previews
Agreed IBG, I think they'll take a couple of extra squad players to cover for any training mishap.
Sticky was saying on Channel 9 prior to the Panthers game that BJ has been doing contact training and it will be up to BJ when he returns. To me that means he has pretty much healed physically, but there are going to be understandable mental issues to overcome before FG is an option for him. Only BJ can know if/when he is ready to put himself on the line again.
The game after the Warriors we will have Nic Cotric again available as well as Hudson Young this week. The possibility of having BJ and Ryan Sutton available in coming weeks will mean there is extra competition for places in the 17 which is a great position for the Club to be in.

Re: 2019 Rd 20 V Warriors: Teams and Previews
I Think this week is lining up perfectly. Everyone in the NRL is talking about how good Manly are - not us. Everyone talking about the Panthers game is talking about the Penrith captains and Cleary vs refs - not us.
We are headed over to NZ, hopefully with a larger than normal squad (ala rumours of BJ and hopefully Hudson Young travelling) for a really crucial team camp. We are hitting our stride, with important players like Cotric, H-Y, and potentially BJ all to come back in. Lets get that 'us Vs them' mentality going again like 2016.
I say we cream this game like we did the New Plymouth match in similar circumstances in 2016 - we had a team camp leading up to that match in NZ, and we really started gelling and finding what we were made of. 38-12 was the result.
We have an exceptionally strong group of people in this squad, and I cant help but think that a team camp right now will only have HUGE benefits.

It looks like the whole squad went in and had cryotherapy treatment last night based on Instagram Stories.

That is REALLY great news. I know they have a deal with a Canberra based Cryo group, but to source one for a Sunday night for an entire team in a different city REALLY shows that we are dotting i's and crossing t's.

The Mounties game is also in NZ (albeit the day after) so the entire raiders contingent might travel as one.Coastalraider wrote: ↑July 29, 2019, 8:24 am I Think this week is lining up perfectly. I reckon Jack is due for a big game too.

It involves being exposed for short periods to intensely cold temperatures. The shock is supposed to help recovery.

My mum had a chat to Emre Guler and Jack Wighton this morning, they were in queue at Sydney Airport immigration checkpoint behind her. Jack was very excited about how they're going. I didn't ask if she asked if he got paid.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

By the way, at least Ata and Joey in Canberra today, Ryan Sutton in Canberra last night.
