I’m sick of short drop outs. They should have to go a minimum of 20 metres.

You kick a ball 1cm too long in the in-goal area, and you’ve just donated 20 free metres and 7 tackles.

You land a pin point grubber, trap the defender in goal and then they get an opportunity at a lotto play with a short drop out, without too much risk given the difficulty attacking teams have in scoring from inside the red zone.

The refs should be really strict on Attacking offside for short kick offs and dropouts. I’m OK for letting close calls go on a deep kickoff, but you have to be strict on the short ones.

Nah, zero tolerance for all, offside is offside

This is the biggest mistake the NRL makes in regards to refereeing, too much stuff is grey areas and down to interpretation

At the start of the year last season when they were blowing absolutely everything as a penalty and not caring about the lopsided penalty counts and “square ups” was the best football we’ve seen in twenty years IMO

And of course, Channel 9 got on their soapbox about it and by halfway through the season the NRL has reverted to how they were
