Josh Papalii parks Origin pain to drive Canberra Raiders finals charge
His Origin pain has been parked. The only thing driving Canberra Raiders powerhouse Josh Papalii now is the Green Machine.
"Origin is past me now. I've left that. That Thursday I woke up after Origin and that was the end of it. That's where I want to leave that," Papalii said. "The focus is fully on Raiders now."

What's with that try scoring celebration from Canberra Raiders fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad?
"There was this winger that used to play for the Warriors, Henry Faafili," Nicoll-Klokstad explains. "He used to do the bow and arrow and I thought it was pretty cool. I just thought if I score I'll give it a go. That's all."

Oldfield can’t defend. Just go back and watch the game against Easts when he last played centres. They went straight through him. Kris can defend. That’s why he gets picked over Oldfield.Ruben Daley wrote: ↑July 14, 2019, 10:03 pmMatty, what’s your thinking for Kris over Oldie? I know he’s new but don’t think Kris has shown much. That was a shocker, but he's also had a few games there where he defended well. Kris at the moment is going well if he produces no negative plays. He really needs to get more involved with the tough stuff which is what Oldfield brings.KasparRaider wrote: ↑July 16, 2019, 5:40 amOldfield can’t defend. I'm pretty sure Kris is injured, so it might be a moo point.

Oldy gets the gig to replace Cotric. No other outside backs in the extended squad.

Canberra Raiders jerseys to be auctioned off to support the Ricky Stuart Foundation
The playing jerseys from Saturday night's match against the Wests Tigers will be auctioned off to raise money for the Ricky Stuart Foundation. The match worn jerseys, which will be auctioned via www.allbids.com.au, will have special embroidery to pay tribute to each member of the 1989 Grand Final team. For example, Jarrod Croker's No. 3 jersey will feature Mal Meninga's name, the player who wore No. 3 in 1989.

Aidan Sezer wants to make the most of Canberra Raiders' run to NRL finals
Aidan Sezer has set his sights on guiding the Canberra Raiders to the summit as the club prepares to import an international-calibre halfback. But Sezer is refusing to speculate on what next season may hold in store.
"It doesn't affect what I'm doing, I'm just focusing on the next 12 weeks. Things like that are out of my control," Sezer said.

Re: 2019 Rd 18 V Tigers: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
It's probably way more recent than this, but I remember back in 2000 maybe(?) Woolford, Wiki, Croker, and maybe McFadden(?) all getting put on report for two separate spear tackles in the same game against Penrith. I think that resulted in 3 or 4 suspensions.gangrenous wrote: ↑July 16, 2019, 5:08 pm Anyone remember the last time we had two first graders serving suspensions at the same time?

I remember Oldie struggling in that game and almost wrote him off as a centre because of it. But I think he's shown enough since then to show that he's improved in defence. And he's so far ahead in attack that it'd have to be a Wighton-Austin defensive gap to push Kris back in front anyway.KasparRaider wrote: ↑July 16, 2019, 5:40 amOldfield can’t defend. That was in a finals game at Canberra Stadium... I remember members had to sit in the east stand, as the NRL took our seats... and David Furner was one of four who got off, allowing him to play his final game for the Raiders.Finchy wrote: ↑July 16, 2019, 7:27 pmIt's probably way more recent than this, but I remember back in 2000 maybe(?)
